You know I have said for a long time that with all the demands a head coach at Texas has on his time each week I don’t think a coach has enough time to watch the amount of tape you have to watch to be ready to call plays. I remember Herman saying he had to find 30 minutes to even get on the elliptical. They have so many interviews per week that they just don’t have time. I would imagine the young wife is in his er about you need to be home to see the baby. You have to watch an unreal amount of tape to be ready to call plays. I am sure he has to rely on Milwee and that other QB coach pass game coordinator or whatever they call him. Sark is not going to ever give up play calling but I think it’s a problem. He’d probably be elite if all he had to do was prepare the offense and no interviews

How many major malfunctions does the Texas special teams need to have for the special teams coach to be held accountable? Georgia turns a game on a fake punt. Georgia turns a game on an onside kick. Tennessee returns a punt for a TD. We get a penalty for faking a fair catch. Tennessee recovers an on side kick for a chance to win the game. The chance of recovering an onside kick in college is only 15% to 20%. Banks is an average special teams coach at best. I understand that he has other roles for the program in recruiting and management, but he will cost us another game with his subpar special teams.

Guys so emotional and choir boys it's football apologize handled the discipline internal learn from it and move on. Atleast it wasn't the Dylan Stewart shooting someone celebration. No excusing Colin's actions because that hurt our team but i think he will be better because of it

Why stop there?

We have an erudite Offensive Coordinator who doubles as the Head Coach, and who thinks his offense needs to be NFL quality in spite of playing the sport of college football. The result is a way too complicated offense for 18-21 year olds to execute effectively, designed to be win games the NFL way…by 3 points. Sark conpletely eschews the types of offenses most college utilize (many to great effect), and because Sark is so singularly focused on his NFL offense, he clearly doesn’t spend the time needed to teach his players basic football IQ - avoiding penalties, special teams, basic clock management, etc. How many five star QBs are we going to see “underperform” in this offense before we figure out what the real problem is?

Our offense thru 4 games in Charlie's last year was significantly better than our offense now ironically

Could not agree more. It’s like we went there and forgot how to act. Seriously?!?! What kind of juvenile bullcrap was all that?! Those guys need to be running til they puke everyday this week for that sloppy performance and embarrassing behavior/celebrations. Terrible sportsmanship.

I am not sure what the eff happened between the final whistle against OSU and the last 8 quarters of play, but Sarkisian has not done a great job with this team. Luckily we are 4-0, with everything left to play for and two weeks to prepare for what we will a very wounded OU team that will only be playing to ruin our season. Sarkisian needs to get this crap under control and figure out how to attack teams that are going to blitz the eff out of the running game to set up negative plays. Manning is lost again right now, as he's not a pocket passer. No matter what happens this season, Sarkisian really needs to move on from Flood, Banks, and Milwee. The OL was trash again today, STs are again awful under Banks, and we've had 6 seasons of Ewers/Manning not improving a single inch at the QB position. You'd think a guy like Sarkisian that has had everything taken from him, would figure out that he can't be prideful with his offense. Manning needs help and Sarkisian continues to throw everything on his plate. That said, Sarkisian's decision to hire Muschamp has saved this season, they would 2-2 right now with Kwiatowski's defense. That is what is so disappointing with his failure to move on from the offensive coaches that are under delivering results, because he was able to do the exact opposite with the defense.

After Muschamp was hired I said Colin Simmons might have 20 sacks. Maybe I undersold it.

THANK YOU JEFF! Sark is on his 4th year with Arch and 2nd year starting and he still doens't know what an offense around Arch should look like! Did Arch have awareness problems today with the throws beyond the LOS and the delay of game? Yes. Was he inaccurate and making tons of bad decisions? I don't think so! At all! Any time we go tempo with quick answers we move the ball at will. Any time Arch scrambles we get tons of yards. But no, we drop back while they rush three and Arch sits there for 5 seconds cause Sark tells him to not tuck and run when he doens't see an answer. I'm serious, Sark the play caller, the OC, would've been fired even last year for the way he called some games. Does he have moments of brilliance? Yes. But 2nd year with Arch and you still don't know what the offense should look like?

Muschamp called an amazing game. I wish he didn’t take the foot off the gas on their TD, but he saved this team from a loss

Not that I disagree with some of the takes. This offense has certainly been disappointing with far too many mistakes, missed reads, and self-inflicted penalties. But, this thread reads like the team is 0-4 and Charlie Strong level bad.

It’s why I wanted the big10 for Texas. It was a better culture fit. Now we’re acting like deep south trash.

My only comment on the quarterback runs (including scrambles) is that Sark can't have one foot in or one foot out. He's either got to turn Arch loose or eliminate the quarterback runs entirely. I think that's a good way to have your quarterback second-guessing himself in the heat of the moment.

We need to practice from here on out is a two step drop and get the ball out. No more time to make 3 reads before you throw. I hate to say it but something with Arch and Sark just doesn’t seem to click. Idk if he just doesn’t have enough time or is getting hit too much that he can’t get settled in but Arch is a good QB but he’s not a Heisman candidate type QB. He’ll go and I’m sure have a great pro career but it is what it is going to be now. Each week we hope this is the week where we see 4 quarters put together but it never happens. The last 4 quarter game I remember was against Oklahoma State in the Big 12 championship and I think we were just that much better than them. It just never seems to happen

I agree with this take a lot more than the easy finger pointing that I see from a lot of fans. I saw some things today that just lead me to believe there's issues in coaching when it comes to the offense. Play calling was suspect at times too. I get that we couldn't really run the ball but those were the best play calls that Sark had if we couldn't run the ball? It's a serious problem that any Sark offense becomes COMPLETELY putrid any time there's problems running the ball. Any team that can make Texas one dimensional will win on defense cause Sark has no answers. Obviously not all is on Sark... it never falls on just one person but there's serious issue IMO when it comes to coaching on both special teams and offense.

It’s hard to be excited about the future when you look at our schedule, our defense will keep us in games but the offensive issues seem to be systemic atp. A team with better coaching and execution will beat us relatively easily if we don’t clean ts up

Suspend Simmons the rest of the season. Clear out his locker. I don’t care if we don’t win any more games. He embarrassed the University of Texas in front of the whole country.

Last week, I felt it was mostly on Arch. After the initial watch today, I put a lot of it on Sark. I don't know if he was trying to swerve Knowles or believed in what he was calling, but the three scoring drives (especially the two touchdown drives) looked drastically different than the rest of the game.
