We are the Federal Government. We are here to help you.

The NCAA isn't going to receive immunity from lawsuits. Even if Congress passed something along those lines, the Supreme Court would strike it down because the SC has already said they won't entertain giving the NCAA an anti-trust exemption. Now, having said that, there's nothing in the Constitution that says you can't have a monopoly or trust in late nineteenth century parlance. What needs to happen for some kind of congressional help to occur is some kind of governing entity needs to incorporate market principles into their "rules." Given the NCAA's tainted record, I can't see this legally happening. You need a break away from the NCAA and fresh start.

Good morning and welcome to Match Play. First up this morning at 9:40 AM is Texas Vs Eastern Michigan. The gist of match play is that there is 5 1v1 golf matches going on. You have 3 of your golfers finish a round better than their opponent and you move on. if Texas takes care of business they will certainly see Stanford Later today. -
None of it will matter until they give the ncaa some kind of protection against lawsuits. They need to absorb the ncaa or make a governing body that will manage the ncaa. From there, dictate that membership will consists of presidents and ads from 13 different schools and change every 2-3 years.

The CSC is not truly independent of the NCAA. They were established by the NCAA to serve an NCAA function. The CSC won't exist much longer because it's a stupid concept. You can't legally tell someone how much a marketing deal is worth. We said as much when this nonsense started last year. If you want to get a "handle" on collegiate athlete compensation, you must negotiate a deal with them. Contrary to uninformed sportscaster opinions, this does not necessitate collective bargaining. There are literally millions of examples of controlled pay structures that don't have collective bargaining.

The CSC is independent of the NCAA. Would that committee still have to rule on NIL money, etc. no matter what new body is set up that separates from the NCAA if that body includes a conference(s) that had agreed to opt-in?

It’s the federal government, which is a complete waste of time.

Times have certainly changed for CFB. Whatever happened to the NCAA 's David Berst?! He was the NCAA Enforcement Director who was seen perspiring at the Press Conference before taking the stage to announce the "Death Penalty" against $MU for paying players back in the day. Hook 'Em!

Ethan Walker hasn’t started a game this season and has lasted 2 innings twice which were his longest outings. He has only thrown over 20 pitches 3 different times this season. he has pitched a a total of 15 innings in 20 appearances for the season and has given up 19 hits (including 4 doubles and a HR), 3 walks, hit a batter and opponents are hitting .306 against him for the season. He is a situational pitcher (the fewer the situations the better) and has pitched 3 times since May 5th for a grand total of 1 inning. He recorded one out in each of those 3 games.
