  2. Checked in on this — Hearing Texas is expected be around in this one. Swan’s sister was just accepted to pre-law at Texas and obviously is from Georgetown. Her boyfriend lives up in the DFW area, so returning to the area is definitely top of mind. There was some reluctance to how hard Texas would push given elite C prospect, Stevie South, arriving to campus in the fall. During her junior in 2025, South hit .535 batting average with a .639 on-base percentage and 122 total hits. I do think Texas will at least be interested in this recruitment, but I was told the team early on to monitor in this one will be Baylor.
  3. If it’s me, I’m dropping the ND series. Unfortunately with how this whole CFB world is playing out big time OOC mean nothing anymore. There is no need to give ND a chance to pump their ending resume up with a potential win over us, while they then go on a play a cupcake schedule all year and we play a SEC gauntlet. Bail on the series and force them to join the Big 10 permanently. I’ve said for a long time I don’t understand why teams even give them the time a day when it comes to playing them. They’re the biggest frauds/jokes in college football.
  4. I’m all for holding Notre Dame accountable - they’ve gamed the system for decades. But canceling great home games at DKR shouldn’t be Texas’ leverage tool. Fans shouldn’t lose Michigan/Notre Dame just to make a point. Fix the CFP criteria so Texas can schedule like Texas, and ND can deal with the consequences of staying independent on their own time I keep arguing, but i still want to watch good football games going forward 😉
  5. I get the idea, but Texas shouldn’t have to blow up great home games just to shame the CFP into competence. Fans shouldn’t be punished because the committee can’t tell the difference between Rice and Michigan. Fix the system - don’t neuter the brand
  6. That's what we all would prefer, but until it's fixed we need to play with the system as it is. A few high profile games like Texas-ND getting canceled would be a powerful catalyst for getting things fixed.
  7. I still want hime to be a Longhorn. Good Luck to the young man and family.
  8. I’d be against canceling any other big name team, but screw Notre Dame right now. Until they stop demanding special treatment their fans need to suffer through watching 10+ boring blowouts every regular season. We’ll have a ton of great games without them.
  9. They were built different then
  10. Cancel the games and never schedule ND for any sport, until ND plays by the same rules as all others teams and joins a P4 conference!
  11. I was at the media scrum when he said that. He is clearly still seeing some ghosts about last season. It almost felt like he was grieving during the media availability. At the same time, he gets the women back in the gym in the next month and I think it’s going to be just fine. He definitely is going to play more freshman more minutes than typical.
  12. What isn't a straight NIL recruitment these days?
  13. Thanks for the kind words! I’ve heard a lot of stories in my life, but I’d never heard the one about Shearer being asked to play goal line defense with one armed taped to his chest.
  14. I really hate Notre Dame but the joy in beating them would be sweet.
  15. Rushing through life and the whole process too quickly.
  16. This is why it’s so funny when it happens to piggy. Especially when this same AD just jobbed us in the CFP.
  17. It’s admirable that he is going this route if he truly is working school and his craft as he is portraying as officials aren’t really necessary if you do your due diligence on UOVs. My officials were just an excuse to party at different colleges after you do the first day of going through the mandated protocols, granted, I wasn’t in football, so it’s probably much different.
  18. They do an amazing job. I miss watching bobby squirm during manscape ad reads. They should get free ad space just to make bobby blush
  19. Serious question for y’all - in today’s NIL world, what kind of money do you think Texas legend Steve McMichael would’ve pulled down? With his game, his personality, and that larger‑than‑life presence, would Mongo have been a seven‑figure NIL guy?
  20. ...and why should he? There is an interview where he talked about his excitement coaching the new recruits. Evidently, Aaliyah Crump and Jordan Lee were being recruited all year. Justice Carlton was basically not a good fit and had no choice but to transfer. Coach said he hates losing players but understands the environment. He said he always coaches hard. And that is all he knows. Time to focus on the new team.
  21. He has a point. An extra day of rest and recovery is huge, but he definitely went about it the wrong way unless he had already exhausted other avenues and decided to plea in the court of public opinion.
  22. Yes NIL driven and if he plans to graduate in December, it could be a summer school issue too.
  23. Today
  24. I get the logic, but that’s exactly the problem -Texas shouldn’t have to choose between great home games and the playoff. We’re Texas. We can walk and chew gum. I’ll take Ohio State in the winter and Michigan/Notre Dame in September. If the CFP punishes teams for scheduling real opponents, then the CFP is broken. Fans shouldn’t have to sit through Rice/UTSA/Wyoming just because the committee can’t evaluate strength of schedule. Fix the system so Texas can keep scheduling like Texas.
