OTF Premium Sports card talk
Quinncent McManning, Jr. replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
$4.90 or 4.9 mil? I find it hilarious that a company can print millions of the same card but print 1/1 on one and it’s suddenly worth 10000 times the rest. -

Sneaky sleeper of this class so far imo. -
Glad to see AI says 2001 Lakers would beat 1996 Bulls and 2017 Warriors.

Exactly. It's akin to taking advantage of the tax code in your favor while following the rules. -

Busy upcoming schedule with DC implications:: Tuesday: Women's golf: match play starts Wednesday: Match play completes, Track: NCAA West prelims start (men) Thursday: SB: WCWS starts, Track: NCAA west prelims continue (women) Friday: BB: regional starts, Rowing: NCAA 1st rd, Men's Golf: NCAA starts, Men's track completes prelims Saturday: BB, Rowing, MG continue, Women's track completes prelims Sunday: BB, MG continues, Rowing finals I'll be keeping a close eye on track as the prelims dictate how many athletes advance to the NCAAs where we need to get some DC points. Rowing shouldn't be interesting until Sunday. -
College stats are pretty crazy these days. An example. Cody Howard. 11.2 innings. He’s only given up 11 hits, 3 walks. Yet 14 runs scored. Not sure I’ve ever noticed a guy give up the same number of hits/walks combined as run over that many innings. i don’t think he’ll pitch, but he could be useful. His first two runs were given up on a Crossland homer. It only got to that point because of a high hopper over his head that went 70 feet. He did give up 2 at Tennessee, but we didn’t have anyone exactly doing well. Then Mizzou he started wth 3 scoreless before giving up 4. Then Arkansas was terrible, but that’s a tough ask against a talented roster that was playing well. With the homers these days stat lines can be chaotic for really all but the best pitchers. Harrison had the A&M game that blew up his ERA.

I was about 10 rows up and that happened right in front of me. That was the most devastating hit I have ever seen in person, by far. -

The NCAA was established by Teddy Roosevelt with federal overreach typical of TR. It's not going to make it.
-
The NCAA exists only to preserve the interest of its members, the educational institutions. It has no regard for the student athlete other than to make them subservient to the interests of its member institutions. It is a failed entity for the student athletes. Now many are not even technically students anymore.

We are the Federal Government. We are here to help you.

The NCAA isn't going to receive immunity from lawsuits. Even if Congress passed something along those lines, the Supreme Court would strike it down because the SC has already said they won't entertain giving the NCAA an anti-trust exemption. Now, having said that, there's nothing in the Constitution that says you can't have a monopoly or trust in late nineteenth century parlance. What needs to happen for some kind of congressional help to occur is some kind of governing entity needs to incorporate market principles into their "rules." Given the NCAA's tainted record, I can't see this legally happening. You need a break away from the NCAA and fresh start.

Good morning and welcome to Match Play. First up this morning at 9:40 AM is Texas Vs Eastern Michigan. The gist of match play is that there is 5 1v1 golf matches going on. You have 3 of your golfers finish a round better than their opponent and you move on. if Texas takes care of business they will certainly see Stanford Later today.
