Love this. Obviously Hill was the headliner of the group but excited to see what Manny and the dolphins / UT crew can do. Side note, it's great to watch red zone these days and actually hear contributions from Texas players. My dad always sends me texts like "Look at Gunnar Helm with the TD" haha.. couldn't say that much in the 2010s. -

Latest Texas Center recruit???? 🤷🏾♂️ -
Over the course of the next month, I wanted to check in on a few members of the 2026 Texas rookie class in the NFL. Today, the focus is on Baltimore Ravens EDGE rusher Ethan Burke, who found his new home out on the east coast quickly after going undrafted in April. Burke was born in Baltimore and still has family in the Maryland area, not to mention he was originally committed to the Terps to play lacrosse before opting for a football career at Texas. As a result, he a strong support system in place as he tries to crack the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent. One of the largest developments for Burkes was dropping about 11 pounds from his final snaps at Texas to now. OTF was told he is right around 265 pounds and was listed at 267 on the Ravens' camp roster. A source said Burke is moving at his absolute best since beginning his football-only career. He is stronger and moving better than ever before. From what I understand, a lot of the focus following the season was to fixate completely on physical adjustments. First, getting completely healthy and two, slimming down as he embarks on his professional career. A writer from SBNation's Baltimore Beatdown noted Burke was pressuring Lamar Jackson throughout the day during practice Thursday morning. Hope to keep you all updated on what's ahead for Burke and plenty of other Texas rookies as training camp heats up and preseason games begin. Feels good to talk about football!

EASTON ROYAL CLAPS BACK AT CRYSTAL BALL

So basically this is “oh I’m Eastons fifth cousin and I think he’s gonna flip to LSU” type of situation. GTFO lmao. Pretty embarrassing for Rival employees to take these statements serious. We really are in need of football to be back already lol. -

Please. He’s enjoying this. Too much for my taste but whatever. ‘26, nil, yellatclouds, yada yada. Miss me for the group that copy/pastes can’t handle big boy (so dumb) recruiting. I loathe silliness and attention seekers. Commitment reservation is the dumbest thing we ever allowed and the Miami gloves concluded my tolerance. Reality is, short of an actual generational QB, everyone can be accounted for with someone else. Asking for adult money, act like one… -

I thought Petitti's comments were interesting. He basically said if Congress can't get a bill done, the next step is working out CSC changes with the other conferences. If that doesn't work, the fallback is self-governance. He also made a point of saying that doesn't mean anyone stops playing each other, which tells me he wanted to shut down the breakaway league narrative before it got started. The bigger takeaway is that the SEC and Big Ten don't seem boxed in. A federal bill is one option, not their only option. That's probably why they're in no rush to meet congressional deadlines. The catch is that self-governance doesn't solve the legal problem. Without antitrust protection, you're back to writing your own rules and hoping they survive the next lawsuit. That's the exact problem Congress is trying to solve.

The associated-entity fight is what's really holding this bill up, mostly because there's no clean answer to it. The loophole is simple enough. Schools are capped on what they can share directly, so the big programs find ways to move extra money through multimedia partners, sponsors, and other affiliated businesses. Nebraska's the best example. The CSC threw out deals for 18 players after deciding Playfly counted as an associated entity and the contracts had no real business purpose. But not every Learfield or Playfly deal is fake. Those companies have thousands of legitimate sponsorships and media relationships, and you can't just assume every dollar tied to them is circumvention. Leave it wide open, though, and the biggest spenders keep building rosters outside the cap anyway. That's the whole problem. Everybody agrees there needs to be a ceiling. Nobody has figured out how to stop the cheating without dragging a lot of real business down with it. Which is why this is the piece that still isn't resolved.

If I were a recruit, it would piss me off as well. I don't care for all the hoopla and am glad he's calling them out. Some of these sites and projections are pushing agendas and clicks more than real content... 🤘 -
