Eh. I didn’t see a lack of focus. I see a very possible weakness and it’s the bullpen. My recollection is Burns has had one bad outing and he was to be the closer. Well, we didn’t roll with him and went with a situational guy in a high leverage situation to be a shut down closer. It was a gamble that backfired. That’s a problem. Texas is going to have to do something. Either trust Burns or shake up the lineup. This is two losses on consecutive Fridays where we have blown a lead and we shouldn’t have. Instead of being 4-0 we are 2-2. Starting pitching has been outstanding.

Some of y’all are overestimating the floor if he were to choose baseball. Unless you’re a top 10 pick you have about a 15% chance of having a 3-year plus career even if you make it into the first round. His floor in baseball is probably his signing bonus. In football it’s probably $10-15m. With his talent baseball is the bigger gamble.

Long season. Three bad games in the last 8 days should be a wake up call. Cant expect them to be perfect but they do need to develop that killer instinct and close these things out. In Schloss we should trust!

Katie is my favorite, you hardly even notice her out there. She is all business, Henry is the fun one to watch. Just like Goode, Henry is always having fun. She's hilarious when she gets on base with all her dancing and antics.

I really don't get it. It seems like we focus on the sprint events regardless. The Indoor Championships were last week. Texas finished: Mens: 12 points, 24th place. Outscored by NAU (7th), Villanova (14th), New Mexico (19th) Womens: 8 points, tied for 28th place. Outscored by New Mexico (10th), South Dakota (15th), Tarleton State (23rd), Princeton (27) I realize that some of these athletes are at specific schools because of the coach that is in place for their event - but some of these kids were just underrecruited, too. Not sure why Texas can't just NIL top performing kids from small schools to earn some extra points considering that T&F field events have a way disproportionate value because of the multiple championships. Below is a list of frosh/sophomore student athletes from smaller schools that it seems like we could recruit to join our teams in non-sprint events. Silver lining. This was a character building loss that mirrors the CWS pressure. Had the game in the bag, lost focus, and lost in a humiliating way. They will remember that feeling when they get into the late innings in the playoffs. It ain't over till it's over.

That’s why I tend to stay out of game threads during games. Too many freak outs. We’re 18-3 and ranked in the top 5 and dropped a heartbreaker on an error. Not a big deal to me. It happens.

This is a fun team to watch. Gotta say I particularly love watching Goode. Such a fantastic attitude. She plays with joy, love for the game, and love for her team.

I think if we are going to have struggles, now is the time. Would rather put some guys through the wringer to weed out who can’t handle the late inning pressure prior to post season play. If we can manage to win more series than we lose, we will be just fine in the grand scheme. Baseball is a game of streaks, and slumps. Would rather slump now and streak late. It’s not easy to endure losses but if it doesn’t kill us, it’s going to bode well for later in the year.

You got it, other Paul. Only one person can operate a steering wheel in an automobile. Some folks need to quit grabbing for it, sit back, and enjoy the ride.

I don't know if I would go that far, but I do think that they are still trying to 'figure it out', as in getting a better feel of which reliever is better in what situation, etc. Just my humble opinion.🤘

Like the ‘05 football team wanting to play USC in the natty, wouldn’t surprise me if this team has been watching UConn and hoping that’s the team they play in the natty game, so his criticism is based off of that imo.
