OTF Premium Note on Tyanthony Smith (Sat. 8:04am CT)

Maybe I mean handle the situation delicately. From a coaches perspective (I do think they know what they are doing better than myself, but….) let’s look at where we are at linebacker, see this kids perspective, and figure out how to get him motivated and on board because we don’t really have all the leverage on this one. We need him, and not just that, he has given a lot to the program and deserves some earned time. Again, all this speculation, let’s see what comes out . He might have been treated fairly and none of this applies. He might have acted out. Only the mods and people inside seem to know. -

Reading the tea leaves, seems pretty obvious Texas would prefer to mask Ty’Anthony Smith’s absence under the guise of the flu for the time being (which Smith could very well have - thus making it easy for nobody to be lying) while they try to avoid a public disruption in the middle of camp. Gerry likely has the inside scoop on what’s going on with him, but was told in confidence and can’t reveal it (yet). Most plausible scenario is he’s fallen behind on the depth chart - it’s not illness, it’s not family, and the team wants whatever it is kept hush. The hallmarks of a holdout. I can’t see them being able to contain this longer than 24-48 hours. We’ll probably know what’s up by Monday. My best guess. -
Good luck to the cowboys tonight not lol 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮

The " not with the team" part does not sound like sound like he has the blessing of the coach. -

I respect the grind. Other sites are more worried about posting all day in a political forum and another doesn't attend practices or anything live. They are too busy doing movie reviews

Best in the business! Love seeing all the additions and amazing content. Football is king but the coverage for every sport is top notch. I’m just wired to be a basketball guy and @Gerry Hamilton is the 🐐

That’s not a bad perspective either honestly. I do have trouble with the treating delicately part, because that just rubs me the wrong way. If you need to be treated delicately, linebacker isn’t a great spot for you. But yea ok I’m done until more information comes out lol. - Today

Other side of it: you’ve bled burntorange for years, since you were in high school, and all of a sudden 2 guys that chose to start out elsewhere take your job because there is a coaching change. The new coach you feel doesn’t know what you can do, and didn’t recruit you. He also wasn’t around when promises were made in recruiting and last year. Ty Anthony ended the season with 9 tackles (8 solo), 1 tackle for loss, 2 interceptions, and 1 quarterback hit in the Michigan game (college football experience). Behind him we have unproven freshman . He might deserve to be lifted up like Jelani McDonald and Kade Philips. He sure as hell can help this team. And maybe just treating him delicately while still coaching him up could help. Coaches have egos too. And while players are getting paid and need to adjust, so does the coaching . It has to be smarter, these kids can go where they want and make more . All of this might be just speculation, just going by the thread here. We have few holes on this team, without his experience we get a big one in my opinion . -
