WNBA playoffs are really good!
Dread-headed Texan replied to Califashorn75's topic in On Texas Football Forum
This next wave is going to be crazy. Olivia Miller,, Chloe Kitts, Lauren Betts, Flau'jae, Hannah Hidalgo, Maddy Bookie, Lauren Betts, and the young lady coming from overseas who's name escapes me are only going to push the competition to higher heights. The ladies in the league will have to step their games up or get pushed out, with limited space on the roster. I love it! I've been here since the inauguration of the W and it has never been this much parity in the league. -

@Gerry Hamilton Did you guys say you are about to start a weekly basketball show?

Looch has a PhD in being asshurt over Texas.
-
Really ridiculous narrative going around about our “luck” in the SEC so far.
-
He should land on his feet if he wants to coach again. He was a thorn in our side. Unfortunately, NIL passed him by. Sark has been masterful compared to Gundy and Dabo.

All of which were disingenuous to begin with.

He might still be healthy but he'll be dejected and defeated.

Sean Miller and the Texas MBB squad
HookemTexas replied to PaulieD's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Last time Texas hired a coach with a FF on his resume, the team never got out of the first round. What they've done in the past isn't as impactful as what they are able to do moving forward because the landscape of the sports world in college athletics is vastly different now with the transfer portal and NIL. -

Who cares what their gender preference is as it relates to competitive and physical hoops. We have our share of lesbians sprinkled throughout our UT women's teams, but it has zero relevancy to our love and support of our teams. The quality of hoops in the W is really good. Lots of NBA players go to the games too. Just imagine when the next wave of college stars enter the League: Booker, Rori, Juju, the UCLA center, etc. -
Great now everyone has time to delete their tweets about how Texas is playing a backup and instead say they’re playing a struggling QB

Texas can shut Florida down.

I agree, in his same shoes I'd take the money as well, especially given a built in excuse of "hey I don't have the same resources to compete". Just like Jimbo at ATM with his guaranteed contract. Just fire me so I can take my money but I sure as hell ain't walking away from it. Separately but kind of similar, I find it funny when people complain about a high dollar free agent/recruit that doesn't pan out. It's not their fault your team (pro or college) offered the money, it's your team's fault for not properly assessing the value.

Sean Miller and the Texas MBB squad
Sundancekid replied to PaulieD's topic in On Texas Football Forum
FBI wrecked Miller’s Arizona squad the last few years with accusations and uncertainty regarding illegal payments to players that in today’s landscape seem pretty inconsequential. His Arizona trams had some mono working for a while and were primed for a breakthrough if not for the legal troubles. Lots of great coaches don’t win national championships are make a bunch of final fours… depending on your definition of “great”. -
Florida head coach Billy Napier says QB DJ Lagway is "100%" as of Wednesday during his time on the weekly SEC Teleconference. The UF QB was in a boot following the Gators' loss this weekend to Miami. However, Napier says the boot was due to the sophomore quarterback being stepped on in the game and that he "is fine" at the moment. Florida is idle this week, then will host the Longhorns on October 4 in Gainesville.

Just me, but I believe he's going to be very strong in evaluation. Putting a roster together. Miller won't have the same NIL behind him Sark has, to be clear. -

How do you view his talent acquisition skills? Sark to me is elite at this. -

Gerry Hamilton replied to PaulieD's topic in On Texas Football Forum
All depends on what your definition of elite is. For some it's National Title, for some it's multiple final fours, or a final four on a resume. For me, Sean Miller is an elite current college basketball coach with four Elite Eight's, 22-13 in the NCAA Tournament and 8 Sweet 16 appearances. But I view how difficult winning is in the NCAA Tournament differently than some others. If someone's only measuring stick is a Final Four appearance to be Elite ... would you take Kevin Keatts over Sean Miller, or is he an elite coach over Miller? Not me!!! Current college basketball coaches with more NCAA Tournament wins than Miller: Tom Izzo John Calipari Bill Self Rick Pitino Mark Few Rick Barnes Kelvin Sampson Matt Painter Thad Matta Sean Miller is No. 10. If Miller is at Texas for 7-8 years, I'm betting he'll add another Elite Eight or two ... I hope he gets to the FF to complete the coaching resume, but it's not a given. -
Fair enough. Do you think CDC had the option to hire an "elite" coach with a FF on his resume? Which ones were available?

Stay in Louisville. Drive in day of game. It’s an easy drive.
