Titus78616 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’ve been disappointed more than a few times this year, and I would personally freaking love it if we won it all. I remember shedding actual tears of joy when Vince strolled past the pylons on 4th and 5. But I didn’t become a fan JUST to see us win championships. I love this University. I like talking with my pops about Texas and updating him on the stuff I read on OTF. I like getting invested in the kids that wear burnt orange and watching them mature and respond. I love this team because I bleed burnt orange, not because they have the resources to win it all every year. I’m sorry, but to me, this chapter of the book that is UT’s story, that I can’t seem to put down, hasn’t been a waste. To me, it’s been just as important as last year’s chapter, and just as important as 2005’s chapter. Yeah, the way this Saturday played out, CFP hope has flickered out, but man, I’m proud of this team’s growth. I’m proud of our fight. And I’m proud to be a Longhorn. 🤘🏽 15 1 Quote
Waxahorn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I agree with you completely. You are not the only one that shed tears that night. 3 Quote
Ambassador of Texas Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Well said. Great to hear from fans who take a bigger perspective. Yeah it’s great to win championships, but it’s supporting your team through thick & thin and enjoying the competition of each game that brings the enjoyment. 5 Quote

Like I said on another post I want this to burn in our hearts and minds. I mean that as a collective because we are all one team. Fans, coaches, players, etc. Just want the necessary changes to be made for next year so that we don't feel this again. I will never be done with this team. Like you said it's a chapter in the long history of this team. Some chapters are better than others so let's hope next year's chapter is better than this year's. Love this team and especially everyone in the OTF family. 2 Quote
stephanie Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Very well said. It’s 100% how I feel too! The “no playoff = failed season” mentality I just can’t get with. I see this season as being frustrating & disappointing at times mixed in with some big wins. Certainly not a “Failure”. Love this team & was so happy for them last night. Horns up always! 🤘🤘 Edited 1 hour ago by stephanie 3 Quote
John F. Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Agree. Disappointment ≠ waste. Yes the losses sucked but there were some great moments. And more importantly I got to share those with my family and you freaks on this site. Viewing that as a waste sounds like a miserable way to live. 2 Quote

Amen to that, especially that last sentence! 🤘 3 Quote
Huskie1 Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago Good sentiments by all. These message boards frequently frustrate me with all the negativity. “We suck”, “fire everyone”, etc. It has been a roller coaster of a season and I have been disappointed and frustrated at times. But watch the games, and those guys play hard and fight. I love the guys Sark is bringing in and I feel this year’s struggles will translate to more success in the future. 1 Quote
Alex Butler Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago Not unpopular, exactly right. 9-3 with an outside shot to get in the playoffs. Not a waste. 2 Quote
Casey67 Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago (edited) Not unpopular at all. I freaking loved last night. I was in my living room standing most of the time. I couldn't relax. I felt like if I relaxed, the team would relax. I know that's stupid but that's how I felt last night. At half time, I felt A&M was clearly the better team and I thought, "We'd better play like they are a better team" meaning turn Arch into a gun slinger and dial up run blitzes to compensate for inferior line play on both sides of the ball. Instead, the Horns just manned up and whipped them on both fronts. I've never been more proud of this team. Edited 27 minutes ago by Casey67 2 Quote
TexasMDcoach Posted 21 minutes ago Posted 21 minutes ago (edited) Good post. Been a fan since the ‘60’s through thick and thin. This year didn’t meet our bloviated talk and expectations but we over estimated some things and had to develop some players further for next season’s success. We won the golden hat and Lone-star trophies. Got a bowl trophy still to win too. We will likely have to wait another year for the trophy we all wanted. We now have a serious QB and have developed some talented current and future starters. This team is still writing its story too so there is that. Edited 16 minutes ago by TexasMDcoach 1 Quote

We were in denial about offensive turnover especially. We lost 4 starting offensive lineman, our best receiver, our starting tight end and our starting quarterback. We were in rebuild mode. I look forward to next year. 2 Quote
