It has been regularly reported that Texas is one of the top spending programs, doesn’t sound like that will change regardless of how funds are dispersed (NIL vs Cap funds)… what fans have a distorted view of here is what “All-In” means… it doesn’t mean unlimited… guaranteed whatever we do they have some form of budget, what makes this difficult for the arm chair QB’s to understand is that nobody knows what anyone is getting paid, what their teams actual budget is, and what the reality around NIL is… Gerry and Bobby have said multiple times that the NIL figures reported on Twitter and the like are pretty inflated to the reality… everyone relax.

If Cam Coleman is between Texas and TAMU as I’ve seen reported, that’s all the more reason for Texas to try to do whatever they can to land him.

TAMU outdid Texas in portal WR recruiting and IMO that was the 2nd biggest reason they made the playoffs and we didn’t, behind their cakewalk schedule.

Texas had a star transfer WR difference maker both years we made the semis. We need to replicate that for 2026.

Agree I thought Concepcion or craver was a need to get for Texas

@CJ Vogeli know it would be hard to do but I can’t help but hope that after the transfer portal closes and it’s all said and done that we can get a “behind the scenes” portal addition like we get the behind the scenes recruiting each cycle to hear all the wild stories you hear (even the ones that aren’t true) to shore up some laughs cause I bet it’s gonna be a hilarious couple weeks on some of these one day to two week “recruitments” 🤣

Well if you bring in Cam Coleman, be prepared for shortcuts to be taken elsewhere.

Again, Texas is not working with an endless budget.

Ok... but pay 1 rb the same 1.5?? Nah.. fix the interior OL... get Coleman and pay 2 rb's 250 to 500K. Baylor LB... Mascoe and Barnes.... Toviano... and roll.

My only thing with Coleman, is if he's worth the price? Could you not get the Marsh kid from Michigan State who would be cheaper but has a lot of upside? I don't know, it's not my money either way lol.

I'm more interested in how much more attrition we lose on the OL. Rumblings of us losing some more guys there and the possibility of Goosby going pro is still in play.

That would mean we're replacing 4 starters again, with not so great development from Flood and not much stocking the cupboards, that is going to be very expensive if it lands that way.

They might need to take upwards of 5-6 OL.

Anyway, just my uneducated two cents.

This season isn't about "upside". We are ALL IN. Arch is LEAVING after 2026. Cam Coleman is now.... elite! Ohio St will line up with Jerimiah Smith and Chris Henry Jr next year.... understand???!

We are going to get lineman... and they won't cost us nearly as much.. guranteed.

Sure I understand, but I just mean he played in a terrible O and with a QB who is not very good at Michigan State and yet he produced really well. He's very talented but if we're looking to replace Moore as a slot, none of these guys really fit that bill.

Chris Henry Jr is really good, but there are already extremely talented WR's on Ohio States roster, doubt he cracks the starting line up next year.

Trying to keep this thread on track..

Thank you for steering the thread back towards what it should be. There are some definite interesting portal OL already.

🤣🤣🤣🤦🏿‍♂️. Henry is going to play... alot. Aiden isn't cheeks and the amount of targets he got came into play, as well. He's not a needle mover like Coleman is. Even on that horrid Auburn offense... with a worse qb situation, dude still made big time plays. Look.. if you really wanna get better running it, secure the interior OL... keep the pocket clean and give Arch room to step up, and have our version of Lamb and Pickens to back defenses off, and I guarantee you the running game gets more explosive, by default. The money we spend on Baugh can get us 2 quality backs.. and still allow Simon, Cooper and MT3 to be in the mix. I think Christian Clark is going to portal out after the bowl game... just mho.

I'm not going to argue with you on this, this thread already went way off track.

Coleman had Jackson "Blinky" Arnold... after they guy last year that was God awful and a rb playing QB as his backup in Alford. Gimme a break! Coleman would've won the Belitnikof with Aiden Chiles..🤣🤣🤦🏿‍♂️. Henry would've played here had he signed... guaranteed. He isn't like most freshman wr's... but... you'll see. I'm very close to his godfather's family members. There is a reason Texas jumped at the chance to talk to him when he wavered on his Ohio St. commit.

Joe Burrow had Jefferson and Chase. It allowed Edwards-Helaire to rush for 6.4 a carry and rush for 1400+. We have a young stable of backs already with potential. Get a Coleman to put on the other side of Wingo... Livingston at 6-3 down the seam.. and Mosley running intermediate routes... sprinkling in some Bishop, Lockett and Ffrench's mustard.... and don't forget Townsend, Washington and Winston! With that.. we can compete with any offense in the nation. It's why Sark wanted Zach Branch. If u want a go daddy... Coleman is the guy. If Harlem Berry leaves... well, we can talk..🤣🤣🤣🤷🏿‍♂️

Caden Durham and Hawkins plus Coleman would also feed families
