You are probably right but this is another bad loss for them and when comparing resumes to Texas they should fall below. If the game was competitive I would feel differently but they got dominated

Not punished but another data point for where a team is today, not then but now. Florida State lost their QB last season and was reassessed with the new data point.

For some reason getting the sh!t kicked out of them one day before the selections are made looks better to the committee than Texas losing in August at Ohio St. by one score. Because otherwise the resumes are very similar, with the edge probably going to Texas.

They just lost to UGA neutral by 21, 14 is the closest it got in 4th. 
We lost to UGA on the road by 25, closest it got in 4th was 4 points. 
They lost to 0u in Bama by 2. 
We beat 0u, neutral site by 17. 
they beat Vandy at home by 16. 
We beat Vandy at home by 3, 24 pt game in 4th.

Having a 4 team bye is the real issue with the playoffs. Need to get rid of the conference Championship game and just go to a 16 team playoffs. And the top 16 ranked teams get in.

This whole acting like there is Supreme Court level precedent for these committee decisions is dumb. We’ve literally had one year of precedent in the 12 team system.

No team that was in the field got penalized last year from the CCG outcomes, yes. Then again, no team that was in the field lost their CCG by more than 8 points.

ISU was on the cusp of the CFP, got smacked and dropped two spots in the final poll. So there is precedent for teams moving down after getting smacked in a CCG.
