It's long been rumoured that Moore played NIL hardball before the season and got a very big check which he failed to live up to.

Going forward we must play moneyball and should only spend big for proven production.

Mosely is probably slot-1, when healthy. Then you have the young bucks. Becomes a bit more expendable.

I like Deandre Moore, but with so much potential returning (Wingo/Livingstone/Mosely) I was worried about what that could do to push out or delay Lockett and Ffench getting on the field (Or Terry, for that matter).

I was thinking that a little attrition might be good to create some space in a very crowded room.

I like Moore a lot. Would rather be went out a Longhorn, selfishly. I always figured he'd enter the draft this year anyways. Not a guy I ever expected back in 26. I don't see him elevating his stock with another year of college ball in the way a Goosby or McDonald could who aren't near their ceiling yet. If he has his degree, he should definitely go pro imo.

Really good all around around receiver and by all accounts a great team guy. Hope he goes to the draft and lands in a good spot.

This is a no hard feelings business decision. DMO has been awesome for us on and off the field. No one was better with fans than he was and he always had the best attitude. Sometimes the money just doesn’t line up.

Like CJ said he's always been an outstanding character, so I won't stop treating him as such just because of how NIL has shaped this sport.
In my opinion he should go get drafted.
I don't see a huge rise in his potential next year... maybe he could get more production for scouts to see, but do you really want to be in the same draft as Jeremiah Smith, Cam Coleman and some of those guys?

The guys at the top of the draft class don’t matter all that much unless he would otherwise be projected as a 1st or 2nd round prospect.

His ceiling even with a monster season is probably mid day 2 so late 2nd to early 3rd. 

It’s not like he is going to shoot that much further up the draft board if he declares for this year.

He’d be way behind Makai Lemon, Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, Chris Bell, Jakobi Lane and KC Concepcion. 

Don’t get me wrong, I love Deandre Moore’s skillset and think he has a chance to be a more productive pro than college player. But the underlying metrics suggest even with a strong combine that he will be viewed as an NFL team’s WR3-4 as a median, most likely projection.

Moore was one of only two WR (the other being Livingstone) who could get open over the middle. Arch had a hard time hitting him early on, though.  Which game was where he only had 3 receptions but each was a TD?

He was a solid Longhorn that made plays when given the opportunity and did a lot of the little things right for us. 
 

Hope he does well whichever path he chooses. 🤘

Best of luck to DMo! Wish him the best! Great Longhorn and great teammate. Selfishly, I’d rather see him go to the NFL than be in another university’s jersey.
