Not in playoff

Then win the games you are supposed to, recruits want to play in big time games period regardless of out of conference, in conference or playoff. Scheduling all cupcakes is just gonna lead into “well who did they play”

We should schedule Rice every year and get some more cred for playing yet another "rival". Oh and convince them to move their home games to NRG.

There’s a pretty big difference in Rice and Georgia Tech right now lol

What is the cost benefit if a loss keeps us out of the playoffs?

With a 9 game SEC schedule next year 2 conference losses will be common.

We should be out of the playoffs if we lose to Michigan. They aren’t crap without Harbaugh and Stallions.

If Sarkisian can’t beat Day in the 4th try in our home stadium with Arch in his payoff season, we have bigger problems than missing the CFP next year.

I had never even heard of Samford until it appeared in AnM's schedule. I had to look it up, 6300 students.

I guess it paid off for them. This is an unfortunate state of college football.

We MUST cancel Notre Dame.

And run up the score whenever possible. Score differential comments started creeping into all the resume discussions. Don't let style points become a liability.

I don’t see Sark doing that he called Miami out for that vs Pitt

I know that's not his style, which I like. However, Miami is in and we're out. He might remember that going into a few 4th quarters next season.

Miami is 10-2, if we would have won any of the 3 games we lost we’d be in with no hesitation at 10-2, I get what your saying I just don’t see that happening unless someone talks some smack like on our way out of the Big 12

I always enjoyed the night games vs Rice at the Rice Stadium in H-Town. The MOB always made fun of aggys during halftime.

Good for a recruiting presence and the Texas Exes living in the area could get tickets.

For us old fossils it was a nostalgic trip to the stadium where President John F Kennedy gave his famous speech. He asked "Why does Rice play Texas?"

Answer: "Because it's hard."

For those who want to cancel ND remember “The pride and winning tradition of The University of Texas will not be entrusted to the weak or the timid.”  If we lose we lose but we should never make a decision not to play a school because we might lose.

Arkansas next year would be a great place to start.

I would love this to be the case.

You know why? It gets everyone on the field. It keeps vibes high and builds confidence in the building. Score every point you possibly can for 60 minutes.

The playoff committee didn’t just bend college football — they faceplanted into it and then blamed the turf.

They spent years preaching “strength of schedule matters,” then quietly revealed the real rule is “count the losses and stop thinking.” So now Georgia and Bama aren’t “scared,” they’re just doing math… and the math says cancel anything fun, risky, or remotely watchable.

Congrats, committee. You’ve turned September into preseason, neutered marquee OOC games, and taught everyone that scheduling courage is for suckers. If this is “smart football,” then college football just outsourced its soul to an Excel spreadsheet

It does Texas no benefit to keep these massive non conference games. With a nine game conference schedule, there is no reason to add another Georgia to your schedule just because you can.

Evidenced by this season.
