Remembering David Ash’s breakout bowl game

Thirteen years ago today, David Ash (with a lot of help from Alex Okafor and Marquise Goodwin) led Texas to a comeback win over Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl.

I’ve never in my life seen somebody as fast as marquise Goodwin. Imagine him in sarks system.

One of my fav parts of the year was David Ash resurfacing to defend Arch. Love that he is still passionate about Texas. He was amazing on OTF & 3rd and Longhorn too. Under appreciated Quarterback and Texas legend!

That was a fun game to attend.  Ash was a MUCH better QB thank a lot of fans gave him credit.

LOVED his interview for 3rd & Longhorn, it gives an insight into how much of a smart and thoughtful guy he is.
Gave everything he had to wear that jersey.
Longhorn legend.

Also it's crazy and pretty shameful to us fans that Arch got booed at home.
But I guess that comes with being QB1 at Texas.

Went to the 2011 Holiday win over Cal when Kenny Vaccaro went Superman over the running back and sacked the QB. Think I spent like $70 for 2 tickets for me and my ex-wife..right behind the Texas bench, only a few rows up somewhere around the 30. haha looked at the prices for the same area today

The old Jack Murphy Stadium was a dump, but San Diego seems like an ideal destination for a bowl game. It's a shame that San Diego will never host another Super Bowl, because some media folks I know who've attended the Super Bowl in San Diego raved about it as a host city.

as a kid, i lived about 5 minutes from the murph when stanley richard (and junior seau) were bolts.  it still doesn't seem right that the chargers aren't in SD anymore...

Everyone  should watch the David Ash episode of 3rd and Longhorn.  

His professional football journey is insane.
