SarkFiction Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 1 hour ago, Matthew McClure said: Indiana fan here, I've watched your board over the past week for Brunner news. I've also watched UT stack outstanding recruiting classes year-over-year. In a sea of neurotic posts, PaulieD's post was one of the few that resonated with the vibe of Indiana's recruiting forums. I've got to ask a few questions: 1) Do you have no confidence in your coaching staff and the OL underclassmen UT has recruited over the past several years? 2) Is the problem UT recruits well but sucks at player development? Prior to Brunner's IU visit, "insiders" mentioned he was ours to lose. Brunner visited Indiana over a week ago and we've heard nothing about how the visit went. Do you know how many Indiana fans have expressed concern in our forums? There's not a single "sky is falling" post about potentially losing the only major OL transfer Indiana is targeting... and it's not because we are confident he will commit to Indiana. We aren't worried because we are confident in the development of linemen who haven't even sniffed the field yet, and we trust the staff to go out and get someone if there actually is a gap on the line. Shifting gears a bit, we were relatively excited about the visit from former Texas RB C.J. Baxter. He would have been part of a 4 RB committee if we signed him. It sounds like he was ours if Cignetti wanted him... Cignetti passed. For a little context, You have to understand Baxter would have been the first 5* in Indiana history. The backlash from the Indiana fan base for not adding Baxter... none. We trust our staff to identify if he would have been the right fit. I agree, there way too many sky is falling posts, as if Sark has not proven himself to be a great recruited and evaluator of talent. But the reason you are not hearing sky is falling posts on your board is that, historically, you have the losingest program in P4 football, you are a basketball school, and you are in the playoffs. Trust me when I tell you that Indiana is not immune to losing players. As soon as the playoffs are done, your players that haven't sniffed the field will want to get paid. As for Texas not developing talent, they have produced more draft picks than any other program in the country. You guys have two good years and all of a sudden you're the steadiest fanbase and gold standard? Get a grip. 5 Quote
diegozanna20 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) So, to recap, for the OL so far: Jordan Seaton - Sophomore OT from Colorado, 6'5 330 Mason Barton - Sophomore OT from JST, 6'6 315 Terence Roberson - RS Freshman OT from Ouachita Baptist Tigers/Arkansas, 6'6 295 Jordan Church - Sophomore OG from Louisville, 6'4 310 Aliou Bah - Junior OG from Maryland, 6'6 327 If someone has PFF grades and can update this list with their respective grades I think it would help create a clear picture about these prospects Edited 2 hours ago by diegozanna20 6 Quote
Longhornlove Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Anyone "planning on entering the portal" is just saying, using extreme measures to re-negotiate my NIL, if I don't get what I want, show me the $. Quote

This is false. Some might but them announcing just mean they told their coaches. The coaches then have 48 more hours to convince them to stay before they have to put the name it. Quote

You aren’t losing recruits because you don’t have 4/5 stars being chased by middle tier p4 teams. You have 30 year old grown men in their 9th year of college playing for you guys. Cignetti has definitely done a tremendous job of catching lightning in a bottle and sky rocketing to a championship. He deserves all the credit and accolades but doing it while having the oldest roster in college has its own advantages. Let’s see if he can maintain this level and stay on top while consistently doing “more with less” as they say since he doesn’t need highly ranked players to win. Will be interesting to see how the next couple years goes but never know the dude might be special and have a good thing going in Indiana. Hope we smack em next year in the playoffs….. 🤘 Quote

If we don't get seaton then two starter level guards and maybe some depth 1 Quote
