Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 8 hours ago Author Moderators Posted 8 hours ago Miller said tonight was the best statistical defensive night Texas has had this season. "For us to hold them to 64... If we look at ourselves in the mirror, that was the best effort we've had against a really good offensive team." 4 Quote

The Longhorns took a 42-37 lead into halftime and, along with Tramon Mark scoring 16 of his 21 points in the second half, Matas Vokietaitis spearheaded a 13-for-16 effort from the foul line to help Texas (11-6, 2-2 SEC) open things up in the second half en route to its second consecutive ranked win. The Longhorns built on Saturday's 92-88 road win over then-No. 13 Alabama with a hellacious defensive effort in the second half. Vanderbilt (16-1, 3-1) went 8-for-30 from the field after halftime, including a 1-for-10 performance from beyond the arc. @Jeff HoweJeff, the two things that have really stood out for me the past couple of games are better defense, and better rebounding. This, IMHO, is a direct result of great coaching, staying on the players 24/7 to improve their game. Texas roundball is fun to watch now.🤘 3 Quote

Huskie1 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’ve always said you can judge a coach by the improvement a team makes over a season. This team is on the right trajectory now, after a rocky start. There will be some hiccups but they are moving in the right direction. This team has some deficiencies but if the play as hard as they have lately, should be fun to watch. Tanks Jeff for your work covering basketball. 2 Quote

Roy Hinojosa Posted 3 minutes ago Posted 3 minutes ago If Texas can polish it up and keep getting better, they can make the tourney. Quote
