Califashorn75 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) We are finally at full max health capacity. Coach can go 12 deep. The return of Aaliyah Crump brings more offensive fire power to the court. Rori was more offensive minded last game as her midrange jumper is deadly. She still rarely shoots the 3. Jordan Lee has been in a three game shooting slump and we really need her to get back on it. At Coach Vic's recent presser, he was not happy discussing the lack of our three point shooting. It struck a nerve. He also said that the big girls, especially Oldacre, need the ball more in the paint. He loves the team, sees they are very good, but lack toughness at times which challenges him to coach better. He said Ashton Judd and Rori were the only consistent tough girls on the team. I foresee a drubbing of the Gators this evening. Hook'em! Edited 2 hours ago by Califashorn75 1 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Amalia Holguin, incoming guard next year, and the last and youngest of Kobe's Mamba Team out of Newport, (still in high school) hit for 61 points for Senior Day! She is a great outside shooter. Has an amazing handle and part of the #1 recruiting class in the country. 2 Quote

TexasMDcoach Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I love Vic. He gets the best out of his girls and does it in a way that his players still feel loved and want to do their best by him. I am glad this group is having to play through some adversity as this hopefully will cause them to keep pressing and peaking at the right time. They have it in them to win it all this year. ChanmanV Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Most interested in seeing if Lee can get back on track. She’s been slumping the last few games now and we will not contend for a chip without her playing well with confidence. Also, I want to see Crump get integrated more into the offense off the bench. LonghornFan4Ever Posted 59 minutes ago Posted 59 minutes ago (edited) The question about their 3-point shooting slump really struck a nerve with Vic because deep down inside, he knows they're right and that's what it's gonna take to beat South Carolina, LSU, UConn, etc. in the tourney and win it all imo. With Aaliyah Crump back healthy, their outside shooting is the only question mark I have about this team. They are national championship level at everything else. The outside shooting won't hurt them in the regular season but could cap their ceiling to Final Four if it doesn't get addressed. Right now, it seems like UConn is destined for an undefeated national championship season. They are the best 3-point shooting team in WCBB and it's gonna take a herculean effort to knock them out of the tourney. Their conference schedule is a cake walk. Texas at full strength has the best chance to do that imo. Edited 57 minutes ago by LonghornFan4Ever Quote
