I disagree with Texas being as high as they are, unless they're just basing that off of potential.  Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn should be in the top five because they have won national championships or made multiple Final Four appearances as members of the SEC.  However, the NIL era has shown us that your past history in a sport doesn't matter if you are willing to adapt.

No one besides Cignetti and his staff could've saw Indiana becoming a juggernaut in football as IU had never had a 10+ win season until they arrived in 2024.  Texas could become a top 3 SEC program in men's hoops if they wanted to.  That's the key.  Are they willing to do it or are they content with being good to great at the other 20 sports on campus and halfarseing the second biggest money maker in their athletic department?  This portal window after the men's hoops season is over will tell us everything fans need to know, as will CDC town hall meeting tonight.

Indiana isn't a juggernaut in football. Georgia Tech won a football natty in 1990. Didn't make them a juggernaut.

I'd put Texas over Kentucky because of talent base. Not to mention the only basketball fans in the world more delusional than Kentucky fans are Cuban infected Mavs fans.

Obviously KY should be #1.

Arkansas has had a more consistent winning mbb tradition than Florida but I'm a bit surprised Florida was 5th after their 3 NCs in the 2000s. Florida has 2 more NCs than Ark and has outperformed Arkansas head to head 28-15. I lean Florida #2 since we are talking job rankings of today.

Texas has a strong national brand, new stadium and money but I would put us #4 in mbb. Our money has not been all in on mbb. TX fanbase interest and support seems to wane more so when we are not good compared to other passionate basketball programs.

TN #5 imo.

A&M should not be in the top 6 imo.

You boys are lost in media hype. Kentucky is a graveyard. Non-blue bloods like UConn, Florida, Arizona, Villanova, Michigan State, Houston, etc, etc. are better than Kentucky. It's not 1996.
