AZ Longhorn Posted Sunday at 02:36 AM Posted Sunday at 02:36 AM (edited) @Blake Munroe I can barely stand to watch A Rod swing. Could you perhaps do a quick video catching us up on the history of that injury, what they've tried, and what his prognosis is? From the very little I've heard, it sounds like the surgery thing was a bit of a hail mary, and they don't know what's wrong or how to fix it? I feel terrible for the kid — he has a real future if this can get resolved — but this can't go on. And even just selfishly, I can hardly bear to watch Edited Sunday at 02:37 AM by AZ Longhorn Quote
.45s Posted Sunday at 02:56 AM Posted Sunday at 02:56 AM Pitching has been slipping. Brody Walls fell apart, Hamilton in, but it is now 11 to 6 with one out. Quote
Moderators Blake Munroe Posted Sunday at 03:00 AM Author Moderators Posted Sunday at 03:00 AM Texas definitely has slipped up here at the end but they just need two more, as they’re up 11-6. USCU has 2 RISP Quote

TCope111 Posted Sunday at 03:02 AM Posted Sunday at 03:02 AM Our middle relief and closers are going to have to pick it up for conference play. We will get beat by teams with fire power and good pitching if their own. Can’t come in the game in relief and throw balls/walk batters. Quote

I think tonight is an outlier and over the course of a season, the bullpen will prove to be a massive comparative advantage over other programs (like most experts believe). Not making excuses for tonight, just don't believe this is evidence of underlying problems or a pattern at this point It's hard to come back after a rain delay, Even just over the course of the whole season so far, this is very much an outlier Walls, and even Hamilton, are not our highest-leverage guys. Burns hasn't been super sharp, but if this is a one-run SEC game, we're seeing different arms throughout. Quote

I agree somewhat, I think we have gotten away from underwhelming performances from the middle relief by playing inferior opponents and then always having a big arm to bring in when they start to waver. I get what you are saying though. I do think we have strength there, but they need to throw strikes. 2 Quote
