Califashorn75 Posted yesterday at 09:03 PM Posted yesterday at 09:03 PM She's a big body. Time to get coached up. Not much of a scoring threat but should be able to give Brea some breathing moments. I wonder how Hosea's development is coming along? Quote
Assistant Regional Manager Posted yesterday at 09:12 PM Posted yesterday at 09:12 PM (edited) Vic is going to need to adapt. No one is saying he needs to make wholesale changes to who he is or his core identity, but there will have to be tweaks. Getting over the final hump is always the toughest and requires the most introspection. Edited yesterday at 09:13 PM by Assistant Regional Manager 7 1 Quote

Since Vic didn't get any real experience big, I have my fingers crossed that Hose is the next best thing. Texas really needs some help spelling Breya. She's slow, in foul trouble often, doesn't draw many fouls, and is 50-50 on free throws. 2 Quote
Bevohorns Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago This roster won’t be competing for final 4 spot next year. Did not upgrade at all through the portal while our competition did (sc) 3 1 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The girls coming in are going to have gel and ball quickly. Lots of youth. South Carolina really scored this recruiting and portal cycle. 1 Quote

Texas lost three good players in the portal and brought in one that will contribute. I will be shocked if this team advances to the Sweet 16. Rebuilding during Booker’s senior year is maddening. There is 12 on this roster and two will not contribute. 10 is thin. Five of those ten are freshmen in a difficult conference. Anyone who thinks Texas is better than SC, LSU, Vanderbilt and Kentucky right now is not paying attention. Tennessee might even be better because Caldwell found 15 players that are good and fit her system. I’m truly at a loss for words. 5 1 2 2 Quote
pinkman_90 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago 2nd half of conference play she played 5 mins per game for a mediocre big east team that didn’t make the tournament. What are we doing? 1 1 Quote
HookemTexas Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I too am feeling like next season is going to be a meh. While the backcourt and wings will be talented, any team with a half decent big is going to eat Texas for lunch. My personal grade so far for the offseason is a D, only because the incoming class is rated highly, but they are unproven. As with others, I don’t see them as a top four team next year, not even top four in the SEC. 1 2 Quote
HonkEm Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Some people on this board are acting like Texas is the only good program that didn’t live in the portal, and that’s just not true. Plenty of top teams barely touched it - the difference is those teams already had Final Four‑level cores. Texas skipped the portal while losing three rotation players and bringing in five freshmen, so the anxiety is about timing, not roster size. But some of these takes are way over the top. Texas isn’t suddenly behind Vanderbilt or Kentucky, and saying “Sweet 16 would shock me” is just emotion talking. Booker is one of the best players in the country, the recruiting class is elite, and Schaefer wins 25+ games even in imperfect years. The ceiling is still high- the margin for error is just smaller. 5 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago The key is Itute. She's a freshman but has a lot of international experience. Watch her tape. She's a dog. 2 Quote

Thanos72 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Amazing insight from the WBB experts here. No need to tune in next year. Super helpful observations before the first practice occurs. 2 Quote

That’s such a lazy, flaccid, and simpleton reply. The sad thing is they are homogenous. What comments? This, like most things, are just about how one feels about something independent of reality or truth. Nothing insightful. Same nonstop b!tching over and over. Lamenting how others did well and crying about how terrible we’ll be. Dramatic conclusions about how terrible we’ll be, etc. based on what? There’s no conversation on how the new folks can mesh and be successful or how the ones that left might have been impacting the culture ceiling so it’s a net positive. No strategic talk on how to make it. Nothing that identifies a concern and how we can or why we can’t overcome it. Most is wah wah or begging mods to spill the tea for their diaries. Also, nobody knows. Fabulous incoming class but I guess they are predestined to fail. Maybe hold off on the b!tching until there’s actual observation but that would eliminate most commenters that just want to share their feels. Most of which are negative. They’re always the loudest because they’re typically miserable humans. I’d prefer quiet and patient approach or actual strategy to negativity or deluded optimism but that’s just me. Stepford Fan Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Wow, Thanos72, I've only made 4 comments on this forum and have already been labeled as lazy, flaccid and a simpleton? Did that make you feel better? If it's so painful for someone of your superior ability to wade through the drivel of this forum, why don't you stop because your denigration of others adds nothing to the conversation. 1 2 Quote

Saying it's meh or wont be competing for a final 4 is fine and that doesnt mean they wont win a lot of games still. Anyone that watches WBB knows that the teams with the most talent usually go the furthest and the talent is usually hoarded by a few teams. Texas has a lot of young talent coming in but so do all the other teams that upgraded through the portal. SC has a better class now than Texas and still added transfers while not losing anyone. Duke has talent coming in too and added a quality transfer. Vandy didnt lose much and they were able to beat us and we got weaker. Theres more teams that could be listed that have all upgraded while texas has not. Dont think anyone having doubts are wrong and doesnt mean they wont still support and watch. 1 1 Quote

It’s hyperbole but you prove point. It’s beaten to death what others have gotten and what we didn’t. How many times does it need to be covered? Y’all don’t know we are weaker. The only thing you know is some experienced players left, with noise/speculation around why, and a very talented group is coming in. The aggregate raw talent coming in is arguably better. The only thing we know is we are more inexperienced and yes we had a slim portal season. It doesn’t matter who anyone else picked until we see how they gel but that doesn’t stop the crying. It’s bad enough during game threads but this Texas. We can’t use our brains and elevate the conversation beyond woah is me. Even the mods are avoiding it. Mods need a new dedicated section for folks that just want to complain and lament under the guise of discourse. A permanent post for the main sports to vent, complain, or whatever so the mod posted topics are saved for different discussions. It’d be the most popular feature here. 1 Quote

It was always going to be the year after…the freshmen will need 1 season to marinate. The negativity though…got to get that taken care of. Quote
