Texas guard Simeon Wilcher is entering the NCAA transfer portal, On Texas Football has learned.

Wilcher is the second known portal departure from Sean Miller’s program, joining forward Nic Codie.

A transfer from St. John’s, Wilcher has one season of eligibility remaining after spending one season with the Longhorns. Wilcher played in 36 games during the 2025-26 season, making one start and averaging 5.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Wilcher’s departure means the Texas backcourt will be completely rebuilt from the group that helped the Longhorns advance to the Sweet 16. Tramon Mark, Jordan Pope and Chendall Weaver are out of eligibility, with Wilcher the only other guard in the rotation.

Michigan is in it. Not going to be easy for Texas. One other involved too

It shouldn’t be easy for a future 2nd round pick level player

Texas also has 2-3 others at the position they are making sure they can get on campus

Punch can ball... just needs to hut thr weights. His pace and effort and shooting ability would complement Matais and also wouldn't leave Matais and the only inside presence on defense or the offensive/defensive boards. I like it, if it happens. @Gerry Hamilton... any thoughts on the fit? Does he work with Coach Miller and more importantly, does he fit with Matais, in your opinion?

After Millers first season at Texas...making a run in the post season with little depth, what should year 2 recruiting look like?  There are still a lot of holes to plug here so the canoe dont sink.  Ill reserve any judgement until this team is built.

Not sure on all that yet. Think that will be the big step on a future visit
