817 Boxing B Posted yesterday at 06:20 AM Posted yesterday at 06:20 AM (edited) Listen, I know a lot of you don't believe Monshun Sales and Easton Royal would both be in the same class... but considering the fact that we expect Wingo and Coleman to be gone, not to mention Arch and a litany of others, there would be ample NIL there for both. Anytime a recruit seeks out contact, your ears perk up. If they do get on campus at the same time, I could see the staff and Wingo/Coleman pitching what they have now as a precursor to what they could be together. Sure.. it's a stretch to think this kid would leave the midwest.. especially with Ohio St. in the fold, but if the team reaches the heights we all hope for and expect, I think it becomes a true possibility. Can we fend off LSU and Ohio St. for the 2 best wr's in the country? Edited yesterday at 06:26 AM by 817 Boxing B 10 Quote

One side of the coin is the kid is legitimately interested and wants to see what Texas has to offer. The other side of the same coin is that courting Texas increases negotiation leverage. There are ample examples for both. I’m unfortunately on the later, there are questions I don’t have access to the answers for. For example, did the staff not reach out prior to gauge recruiting interest of such a high profile recruit? Why/why not? I’m excited to hear what comes about from the next couple of days. I look forward to be hopefully proven wrong. 2 Quote

My optimistic hope is that it is genuine and we can make a huge impression and get in the game on this one, but my gut tells me that this is a negotiation strategy by the kid's agent and OSU will pony up the big bucks to make him stay in the Midwest. genevalonghorn Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago If it was an NIL play, you would go to a school known for ponying up early money - be it Oregon, Slurp, or Tortilla. My $.02. 3 Quote

A receiver that gets fewer double teams has to be a selling point. I remember when KD was thinking about going to the Warriors, a major selling point was that he would get more open looks with all the shooters they had there at the time. Same concept. I hope it happens. 1 Quote

taxsaver Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think it's possible to pull it off. And let's add in Thrower to boot. Quote
