Califashorn75 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago ...and why should he? There is an interview where he talked about his excitement coaching the new recruits. Evidently, Aaliyah Crump and Jordan Lee were being recruited all year. Justice Carlton was basically not a good fit and had no choice but to transfer. Coach said he hates losing players but understands the environment. He said he always coaches hard. And that is all he knows. Time to focus on the new team. 2 Quote

I was at the media scrum when he said that. He is clearly still seeing some ghosts about last season. It almost felt like he was grieving during the media availability. At the same time, he gets the women back in the gym in the next month and I think it’s going to be just fine. He definitely is going to play more freshman more minutes than typical. 11 Quote
HookemTexas Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Much like Logan Eggleston was one of Coach Elliott's favorite recruits, I believe Rori Harmon is one of Coach Vic's favorite recruits (she was his first offer at Texas) and he really wanted to win a championship for her and had the team that was able to do it. He probably views it as letting it get away and that he failed to deliver. 1 Quote

He definitely is going to play more freshman more minutes than typical. I think what haunts him most is that he knew he recruited and built the right team. Unfortunately immaturity and malcontents and a poor shooting night for Maddy B didn't help. I believe in Vic and I appreciate that he has a vision and is going to see it through. Texas is going to be a final four team under his supervision and tutelage next season. People want transfer portal, he knows what he has. I will miss kyla oldacre big time. Loyal longhorn who was tremendous. 1 Quote
watty7796 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Coach Vic shouldnt change, but maybe some of the ladies he has recruited were not mature enough to handle his style of coaching. Further, like most athletes when you come from hs and own the gym, then get to Texas you get splinters from riding the pine. Some are just not ready for that. Love Coach Vic. Quote
