There has been buzz all over the place today about a potential big development brewing with LSU recruiting

Obviously, there is speculation as to who it could be - or what it could involve. I will pass along this: today brought a lot of back-and-forth today between the teams and 5-start Easton Royal’s camp - and not just Easton, but ranging from mom to his representation.

Royal is set to visit Texas this weekend, which is the school he’s been committed to since November.

Now, as for the buzz today. LSU has been working really hard behind the scenes to get him to not visit Texas and get into the spot they are saving for him in LSU’s class. It’s not the first time LSU has done this, but this time there was some real traction gained to the point where multiple sources (on multiple sides of his recruitment) confirmed a call to Texas was made and a conversation had about where things stood and whether or not he would make the the upcoming visit.

After talks between a lot of different parties involved, things shifted to the point where Royal and his mother agreed that he should see it through and make the Austin visit. With how long he’s been committed, they felt it is the right thing to do by still making the official visit given it’s the very last official visit he will make before he finalizes a decision.

I do know that even as of this afternoon as I typed this, LSU was on the phone still working to see if they can get things shut down and him flipped.

Texas is obviously doing a lot of work that’s now been put into overdrive to ensure they can still get the visit to happen this weekend.

Sam has led the way in this recruitment as, to my knowledge, the only person out there getting quotes from Easton Royal each week. From just speaking with Sam, the word we have from trusted sources is that as of 5 PM on Wednesday, the Royal family is telling Texas they still plan to visit this weekend.

Of course, it’s only Wednesday. There is still time for that decision to change… And we’ve already heard rumblings of changes potentially happening that led to this post, so LSU isn’t going to slow down that push.

Toss in Florida, and obviously Royal is being pulled in a lot of directions.

All that being said, I still feel that when December gets here, he’s a Tiger. Sam and myself will keep y’all informed each step of the way, but that’s the latest from behind the scenes on a wild Wednesday….."

I just saw a screenshot, so I’m less worried. Shea Dixon doesn’t have a brain, he’s an idiot, so anything he says is nothing to me.

I would think if a call took place, that would be widely reported by all parties

Yeah that is what I saw as well. And this stuff started last night on their boards . And gotten crazier by the hour. Like I said in another post, I trust sources here and on Texas side. But man with recruiting who knows.  Could just be to drive up the price etc. Battle Royal is definitely on🤣

Knowing how open Royal has been with Texas, and how Royal is the top guy on the board on offense for Texas, I don't buy that he won't even make it to campus. Knowing what I know about the LSU on3 board, they lie all the time. Even today, one of their "best sources" on the board said that Royal had already canceled the OV, only to be proven wrong, and then said that "there's a way for the visit to not take place".

Good point. I just grow tired of him being the worst poster on this (and every) Texas board. He’s a sad 70-year-old at the end of his life trying to make make everyone as miserable as he is. Really just a special kind of jerk.

Dont get triggered bro.  My experience here is so much more pleasant since I started blocking some of the more toxic posters who feel the need to ridicule others to feel better about themselves.   
 

i believe we will land Royal.  I hope he gets the message that he is the real and only target and we are not getting distracted by Sales.  We need Royal.
