Planned Renovation Goals & Features

Capacity Increase: Expanding the seating capacity from its current grandstand limit (around 1,252 to 1,552 seats) closer to a desired target of around 3,000 seats. [1, 2]

Fan Comfort: Adding shade overhangs over seats behind home plate and down the baseline, plus chairback seating with cup holders. [1]

Amenities: Upgraded restrooms, accessible water fill stations, and an expanded modern press box to properly accommodate media and game-day staff. [1, 2]

Recent Additions: Interim updates included adding about 300 seats down the right-field line and investing in a new player development center and pitching lab. [1]

Yes, he’s done a good job of covering the big three women’s sports at UT (basketball, indoor volleyball, and softball) on his channel.

Texas and OU are arguably the SEC’s best softball programs next year - probably the league wanting both of them to have a chance at the top 2 seeds for WCWS.

It is odd to not have either rival scheduled.  Did that happen to any of the other softball teams?

She is not committed to any school at this time.  She was on campus last weekend at the Ohio State-Texas game.

Texas and Oklahoma are the favorites here…

50-50 would be my guess.  Doesn’t hurt that Texas is the reigning back-to-back national champions and arguably the best pitcher in college softball (and back-to-back WCWS Most Outstanding Player) heading into the 2027 season plays for Texas and is also from the state of Iowa.
