@Gerry Hamilton and @Rod Babers had fun ladt night on the Livestream talking about different RB combos for the longhorns, even if they didn't play at the same time. Lots of really good ones.

For us old guys I present for consideration:

Chris Gilbert, 3x 1000 yd rusher (10 game season). Speed, balance, bounce, eyes.

Roosevelt Leaks, a preview of Earl Campbell; 342 yds rushing vs SMU. Brute strength, between tackles burst, speed.

My pick would be Jamal Charles and D’Onta Foreman based on how Gerry mentioned how hard it would be to two all time backs. When I asked the question I wished i would have mentioned in the this system because that how I thought about it when I asked the question

I was in attendance for Leaks game in Dallas against SMU.  It was a blowout and Leaks had been pulled.  When coach Royal learned that he was close to 300 yards in the game he put him in for one final play.  On that final play for Leaks, he broke it up the middle and scored from 50 yards out.

This discussion should also consider the three man backfields during the wishbone years.  Wooster, Bertleson and I am not certain but it may have been Koy.   Also important to remember that for his freshman season, Earl Campbell started out at fullback but I do not remember the two halfbacks.

D’Onta Foreman the often forgotten  great UT RB

He had a great year. He doesn't belong in a conversation about a theoretical Texas running back duo.

Um, why not? The dude owns a Doak Walker Award. He might be the most underrated Texas skill guy ever.
