Cozart will be the #2 and the staff loves what they already have. There’s a reason why they haven’t pursued starting pitchers in the portal. Look what they’ve done with guys like Luke Harrison. We have much more talented guys than him and  the staff has proved they can develop pitchers.

I believe the certainty y'all insiders have discussed the Doza situation with. Smells like there's a part of the equation we fans don't know. I'm curious what that is, and hopeful we get some reporting on it. Because the math isn't math-ing on this one.

Unless Mendoza just doesn’t like it at Texas, he should come back - hasn’t been selected through 15 rounds - don’t think any team would go over $150k signing bonus. Get a degree and comparable money.

Sure would love to have him back. I assume he could make a decent amount in NIL while boosting his draft stock. I know he’d be another year older but a late round signing bonus wouldn’t be much. I hope for his sake he gets drafted but the selfish side of me would love to see him in burnt orange next year 🤷🏼‍♂️

Did Mendoza actually fall? I didn’t see a single draft publication that had him as a top 300-400 player. He was always going to be a borderline draft pick in general.

I think it’s pretty obvious based on the reporting here that he prefers to not keep playing college baseball. I don’t agree with it but oh well.

I hear ya. For me he did nothing this past season to bolster his stock. I understand he will lose leverage by coming back next season but if he has the great season we all believe he’s capable of he won’t need leverage.
