Elko says he’s excited about the foundation they have laid at Texas A&M. Didn’t get into many specifics about his team, but had a lot of praise for Texas HSFB coaches.

Willie Fritz and UH is going to be a problem in the Big XII

He’s just a ball coach. And a very good one at that.

Mike Elko was asked if he prioritized retaining players or acquiring talent… says their No. 1 job is retaining talent.

“We were really proud of the fact that we had the lowest amount of transfers in the SEC”

Texas State HC GJ Kinne obviously very excited to return his QB and two star WRs…. Who both had over 1,000 yards receiving last season.

It may be Texas State but that will be a good first test for this defense.

I really like Scotty Walden from UTEP. High energy guy. Seems very genuine and passionate about what he does.

Great guy. Tough that he took a job where it’s almost impossible to win and it will probably be his last year.

But he should get a nice P4 position coach job and is only 36 so plenty of time to work his way back up.

It’s a good philosophy to have, much cheaper retaining talent than acquiring it.

Especially premium positions. Quarterbacks, left tackles and pass rushers specifically. Those guys aren’t cheap in the portal.

Rhett Lashlee advises Texas HS coaches to “insert” themselves into their player’s recruitments. Says that the state of Texas doesn’t better than anyone.

Fritz also talked about the dangers of too many people in recruits ears. Encouraged coaches to be a bigger part of that as well.

That’s because all his good players entered the NFL draft, and nobody was interested in the rest of the roster.

Sark is asked about five for five

”I think the five for five is something we all pushed for…. It gives us an opportunity to recruit more developmental players.”
