It’s fascinating—just as the whole country vastly overrated Texas to start last year given the youth and relative lack of talented depth, I think a LOT of national pundits are underrating us this year. Maybe people feel kinda snakebit after last year. But you cannot look at this roster and actually believe there are six better teams in the country. That’s just foolishness.

I like our ranking there. Gives motivation and get to be the hunter over the hunted. We won’t open the season that low but I wish we would!

Why? I don't believe in all that paranoid snake bite stuff. We didn't lose last year because we were ranked #1, we lost because we played a great team at their place and our guys didn't execute very well on O.

You may not believe it but if you look into the history of athlete psyche, it’s a real thing. I always had my best races when I had a low seed. They call it the “outside smoke” for a reason.

Eh, I guess I just disagree. You want to be a top program you gotta deal with the expectations that come with it. Like I said, they didn't lose that game last year because they were ranked #1.
