You can have a Grade 1/low-grade high ankle sprain and gut through after a week or two. That's a stable ankle and not painful walking a lot of times. Straight forward movement can be okay after about a week, but it comes down to plant and COD cut

Grade 1/low-grade high ankle sprains can be 1-3 weeks depending on healing.

Agreed. Had a few sprains like that in basketball and was in an air cast for a few days on one of them and back out there in a week and the other took a bit longer. All depends on grade like you said.

Had an ankle sprain myself for about a week just from dropping down from a pull-up bar. The precautionary boot and straight to locker room during game made the Cooper injury look scary, but good to hear he'll be healthy soon! 🤘

Derrek Cooper Update

The latest on the freshman running back headed into the day.

Cooper was on the field for practice Tuesday, but very limited.

The training staff had him doing some light jogging on Tuesday.

Cooper is doing everything he can to try and be available for the game Saturday. Cooper's availability for Ohio State remains up in the air.

OTF will provide an update later today if there is one.

I would assume this means he is a go on Saturday on an as need basis.

Any new update on the people close to Cooper that were scheduled to fly to Austin for the Ohio State game?

The people I was referencing are not coming to the game. They will come later in the season.

I'm not talking about his mom, to be clear.

The great ones suffer scary looking injuries but bounce back sooner, I guess. I remember against Kansas State, VY's redshirt freshman year, it looked like he hurt his new really bad. He came back a few plays later, and the rest as they say is history. Bijan Robinson landing on his head and his legs touching his back against Texas Tech as a freshman. Arch suffering that concussion at Mississippi State last year, and then he came back and balled out the next week.
