Purplehorn3 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Bye Week To Do List: * Work on solving the issue we have with the "A" gaps. We have to win that battle. UTSA and Tennessee figured it out and the rest of our opponents will as well. * Tell Arch to tuck and run when he can and stop crossing the LOS then throwing the ball. Once is forgivable, but this has happened 3 times this year. I don't recall it happening in the past * Get healthy. We will need all hands-on deck...lock and load. * Start research on players who are possible contributors for the portal. Needs: LBer, OL (Particularly Center / Guard) maybe a RB and DL * Eliminate stupid celebrations that draw attention. Like we used to tell our players "Act like you have been there" * Fix special teams issues. We have won games in the past due to exceptional special teams play. Don't let it cost us Feel free to add your own 7 Quote

hookem1014 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 This team was really bad last year after the 2 bye weeks. Staff needs to make sure they’re focused and fix the issues as anything can happen at Red River Quote

Ben Blankenship Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Find a consistent early-down offensive identity. Texas needs more first- and second-down success so the offense isn’t constantly living in obvious passing situations. Create more explosive plays in the passing game. Use the bye to identify the concepts, personnel groupings, and pass protection that can produce chunk plays more consistently. Get Jermaine Bishop more involved. He’s flashed enough to warrant more opportunities. Give him more designed touches and chances to use his speed in space. Make the run game more efficient snap-to-snap. Not necessarily more carries, just fewer wasted downs and more dependable gains that keep the offense on schedule. Keep expanding the defensive pressure package. The pass rush is becoming a real strength. Add more stunts, simulated pressures and disguises without changing what’s already working. 1 Quote
Q Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I for one would like quicker developing plays, and some easy access routes baked into the offense that isn't a screen. Also need more Bishop, he could be used like Miami did Toney early last year then expand. 2 Quote

Carlos Ramirez Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Can Coleman needs to be featured much more. He has 12 catches in 4 games!! He has had ball thrown his way only 20 times. I know we didn’t bring him in to be a high priced decoy. Quote
