Hearing that the initial diagnosis is an ankle sprain for Colin Simmons, but the severity is still unknown, per a source.

Sark said after the game it was a lower leg injury but they were still evaluating him.

Worst-case scenario averted? We'll see but an ankle sprain is certainly better than a knee injury.

Great news. Unfortunately severe ankle sprains can have long timetables, so I’m not sure if we see him again this season.

This is what happens when you run your defense into the ground. Odds go up the more you play. Congrats Sark. Your offense somehow injured your best defender.

Ankle Sprain range can be two weeks, can be 1 year. all depends on the grade

I’m mad as hell at sark but you can’t blame the staff for this. It’s football, injuries happen and you want your best player on the field as much as you can

Ankle sprains can be tapped up and ready to go the next week. Is there really any benefit in him doing that?

Hopefully just the sprain. If he shuts it down that’s totally fine , the best defensive player I’ve seen at Texas. Get paid

The season is a wash at this point. Sark knows he doesn't have it to win out. Collins could wait out the rest of the season and bolt to the NFL and get paid.

When they had him on ground the trainer was palpating his ankle.

I used to have to help our old vet palpate our cows.  I hope for Colin’s sake, the trainer uses a different technique for his ankle…
