When is everyone going to hold the OC and position coaches accountable. There is a development issue on the offensive side of the ball. I thought our offense under Quinn was very good when we had Brooks and Blue together. And remained competent even when Brooks got hurt and Baxter never getting back to full speed. The difference this year is Arch. Quote

The running game is non-existent. Sark even said Florida didn’t hit that many big runs but they end with 90 something yards rushing. He is not willing to take 3 yard runs, he is always measuring success by explosive plays. Quote
Shmatt Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago Idk why it’s such big debate and caused a fight but ALL points are right both Arch and Scheme wise. When the OL does do their job and block well Arch is holding onto the ball too long and fails to read the field or check down to the wide open guy for a first. Let’s not forget he has thrown past the LOS 3 times this year which is an embarrassment for any 4th year QB to do. But the OL is a major issue in itself and these blitz’s aren’t getting checked properly which does fall on the QB/C combination which has been putrid communication and blocking wise. But at the same time Sark should know that the right side of the pocket can’t block and collapses more than the left side so Sark has gotta find a way to use the Left side of the field as the main source of movement. These constant runs to the right are killing us and haven’t worked all year. Sark scheme is decent but not suited for the Talent level Arch is playing at right now as well so he as an HC should make that read and adjust accordingly but he hasn’t. Unfortunately this years issues have been a mix of all 3 OL, QB, and Sark being bad in tandem. Because some plays are schemed up super well but either the OL fails to block someone or Arch throws a meatball sub to a ghost. A new QB could help mask these issues if he sees the field better, it’s proven to work at the highest of levels. So I agree with all points bc guess what the ENTIRE operation is bad, and unfortunately Arch is the QB and a good QB play can help these things. But he has been terrible and that’s proven on tape. Like I said though at the same time Sark should have changed the playbook up for a bad OL that can’t block or do pulls and a QB who is just not a good football player rn Quote

Quinn didn’t have a running game after Brooks went down against TCU in 2023. And only a marginal one in 2024, yet we still went to the national semis. I’ll take failures like that all day long compared to the Arch era. Quote

It’s more of teams started loading the boxes on our OL bc the right side can’t block. Thats a statistical fact. Arch has been bad terrible no doubt but look at the film OTF has show us. We got guys blocking each other and all of Baker, Melvin and Robertson have all been pushed around and bullied for 4 straight games starting against UTSA. The run isn’t working period because our OL is also terrible and that’s a systemic issue and it starts with Flood and Sark. Those are the guys they put out there to win and they clearly weren’t ready. Also Quinn had better teams around him, better OL and better WRs. Coleman, Wingo and Mosley are no where near as good as our WRs of the past Edited 42 minutes ago by Shmatt Quote

Given all the misses and inability to react to the blitz, defenses saw they could load the box and blitz the gaps all day long. Quote

Both parts are true, and I get the Arch hate but the whole operation sucks major ass, and Sarks situational play calling has been terrible. We have two multi millionaire coaches at the forefront of this, and they haven’t figured a damn thing out. Saying Arch is the main source of all failures is just a shallow and nonsensical take. He does take the brunt of it but let’s face reality, Sark hasn’t been a good developer of QBs so what makes us think KJ Lacey is any better? What makes us think that Sark and Aj have actually taught him the right things? Also our WRs aren’t even open all the time, man to man has killed us this year because none of them are particularly great separators. When it’s this bad, QB woes are far from the only issue, that’s a fact 1 Quote

My guess is Sark knows he’s not an upgrade over Arch, and playing him would only expose more problems. Sark still deserves the brunt of this, he put this team together. Said it was good enough and told us so. Trouts out a bad OL for the 2nd year in a row, and clearly calls plays that don’t match the OL/QB combination talent level or mental know how. That ultimately falls on the lap of the guy who is being paid 10 million dollars to figure it out and it’s his side of the ball that constantly loses us the big games when it matters the most 1 1 Quote

The truth is Texas broke Arch, if Sark can’t develop two five star QBs well bc guess what Quinn ended up as a 7th rounder for a reason. And he can’t develop a Damn Manning. That’s going to fall on Sark and Aj for being unable to fully develop and teach our QBs what they need to know.
