And even if it was a good scenario for that call, there were design issues. As shown in the video and from Sark’s mouth. Old Horn will probably just cover his ears and blame Arch for not lead blocking. I wouldn’t but I’m so flattered to remain in your feels. Quote
Rockin TL Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Is Goosby’s effort and rep here Arch’s fault? All he needs to do is complete half his passes and it will fix this! 2 Quote

He’s played awful the past two games. As far as “amyone”, I can name dozens of QBs I’d take Arch over. But right now Quinn and Sam would be far better alternatives. Quote

I hear these general indictments about scheme and play calling, but I don't see the evidence. Yeah, a play doesn't work because a defense did a twist or blitz, but no scheme is going to stop that. The OL have to adjust and make the block. We should blame Sark for his lack of holding his players and coaches responsible and accountable for doing their jobs badly, but unless we can specifically show play call or scheme deficiencies, then we shouldn't make general indictments about the play calls or scheme. Great to see hugs being exchanged mid-game… geez Quote

The Oline can’t pick up a run blitz or a pass blitz so it doesn’t matter. Sark knows what plays work with his current personnel, but that doesn’t fit his offensive philosophy go for explosive plays. The quick pass game is there and works; he just needs to be ok with long sustained drives. 2 Quote

But a good QB can read it and get rid of the ball or get out of there fast. Find it odd that when Arch finally started hitting the underneath guys for quick gains and first downs against Oh St our running game opened up? Quote

A SEC QB getting hit and pressured as he throws? Is that supposed to be unique to Arch? Thankfully once he reaches the NFL, the pockets will always be clean and the throwing windows will be much larger. Edited 1 hour ago by Assistant Regional Manager Quote
watty7796 Posted 54 minutes ago Posted 54 minutes ago The problem with Sarks offense is and has been soft. This is due to his finesse style in a LOS conference. If you are going to run a zone blocking scheme you CAN NOT afford to have any lineman that has slow feet. You have to beat opponents to a spot, not necessarily to move anyone but to shield lanes both in the run and pass game. Further because generally those lineman are a bit smaller and quicker passing downs need to develop relatively quickly. You cant sit in the pocket for 4 or 5 seconds. Big arm long developing plays will not work against equally talented teams. Physics simply do not work. Not all but most big lineman are generally slower afoot but can keep a pocket cleaner for pass and work much better for power run games. There are very few offensive linemen that are both large and quick. Kelvin Banks is the only one I can recall in the Sark era that fits that mold. This offense does not continuously do either of these well. Smallish center that gets pushed backwards regularly...GCG continuously late to spots. This doesn't even take into account a QB that seems utterly lost. A playcaller that limits audibles instead of letting him get the offense into better plays. This team was constructed with this staff and have failed to develop the talent they recruited. There is definitely a lot of flies in the ointment. Figure out what kind of offense you want to run and recruit guys that fit that regardless of the stars attached to their name. Quote

Maybe by then he’ll have a coach who can develop him, an offensive line that can protect him, and an offense that puts him in position to succeed. Quite the endorsement of Sark’s $10M operation. You made my point better than I could. Edited 47 minutes ago by TexasLonghorns Quote

Wait, this is you? 😂 Days ago you blamed Arch for holding the ball too long. Now you’re mocking a clip where he barely has time to throw. Pick a lane. And did you ever find the data backing up your claim that Arch has one of the highest times to throw in the country? We’re all ears. Quote
