When I did that research, I reviewed every big xii game that the Kevin Mar crew officiated (including non-Texas games) and used such information to show that the Mar crew treated Texas differently than other teams. I don't think Alex's post means a lot unless he looks at non-Texas games for comparison. He mentions that they call more penalties against Texas than other crews, but it could be that said crew simply throws more flags than other crews. It isn't necessarily unfair to Texas unless they treat Texas differently than others (like the statistics showed the Mar Crew treated Texas). Did we ever determine why Kevin Mar was biased against Texas? Quote

Fans next to me pointed out that several times the officials were reaching for their flags almost immediately and even pulled them out a few times without throwing it. Essentially they were waiting to see if Ole Miss needed help on that particular play or not. Absurd stuff. That being said, nothing in the SEC has reached Big XII levels so far. The Oklahoma State vs Charlie Strong game was the most outlandish thing I've witnessed. This. I've seen a ref's arm cocked back to throw DPI before questionable contact is even made. Quote
mmdaytontexas Posted 59 minutes ago Posted 59 minutes ago (edited) I think in the Tennessee game, we got a PF on one of our DEs for hitting the QB in the head after they tried to block the pass? It was a totally incidental play, and we still got the PF. Yet Arch gets hit in the head with a helmet and no call. That inconsistency makes you want to throw the remote at the TV or stomp on the bleachers. The constant blown movement calls, with Ole Miss clearly coming forward across the LOS, also pissed me off. You could tell Sark was bewildered by the calls because he was constantly arguing with the Side Judge. Edited 58 minutes ago by mmdaytontexas Quote

Both he got hit helmet to helmet. Arch in Miss State last year got knocked out of game with helmet to helmet , no call, Not this crew i don't think. Got targeted in playoff game against Ohio State late. Herbie ignored that on replay and started lobbying for a fumble. That was why he was not in game on one yard line and first and goal and may have cost us the game. Point being, apparently it is legal to target Arch. ON those I blame the booth . 1 Quote
whereiend Posted 11 minutes ago Posted 11 minutes ago (edited) What I don't understand from that game is that simulation by a defensive line is supposed to be be a penalty. Even the "legit" false start calls involved the Ole Miss DL simulating the snap. The TV crew claimed that it is legal as long as they don't jump over the line of scrimmage, but I don't think that is accurate. Those should have been delay of game on the defense.
