I do think there is like a ~50% chance we just fire him and eat the buyout. And if he actually thinks what you and Hank are saying then that is probably exactly what goes down. But again, short of some kind of miracle run to finish the year, I'll be absolutely shocked if Sark is his own OC again in 2027. It will be either a new HC or new OC IMO. My gut tells me he cleans house on the offensive side of the ball. New OC/QB-guru, new OL coach, and new TE coach. I think he retains JabbarJuluke as RB coach and possibly Chris Jackson as the WR coach. I think he likes Austin and the Eleven Million too much to resign. Plus I think Sark is a winner and wants to win.I think he'll do whatever he needs to do to make that happen. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I hope I'm not. I like Sark. Quote

Separate the job of Jeff Banks into two different divisions of labor. ST and TE. Figure out what’s wrong with the OL. If it’s coaching or just the fact that you need new blood, then make the call. Bobby, when you watch the game again pay attention to the TEs. Their blocking is putrid. A lot we blame on the OL is their fault. I think Banks is a better STs coach than he is TEs coach, and that isn't saying much. Quote

Our TE room is dreary and our special teams unit is a national laughingstock. I should have read your post before responding to Bobby. I just repeated your thoughts exactly. After watching the Miss State again, a lot of the blown blocking was on the TEs and not all with the OL. Why have then inline or offset off tackle if they are going to whiff or get pushed around? You have to be kidding me if you think CDC and those funding our NIL operation are going to sign up for another year of Sark's horrible coordination of the offense. If Sark keeps his job (fairly big if given we likely lose at least two more games), there will be a coordinator hired for sure. I don't think that's a ridiculous take at all. Not that I think it shouldn't happen. I think there would be major butting of heads if he was forced to hire an OC/playcaller. Quote

However, I see Texas going for a Bob Chesney/Curt Cignetti type of coach next time, and not a legacy like Major. R tried that before with McWilliams and it didn't turn out so well. Take it with a dose of satire. Zero percent chance Major coaches at Texas again. 1 Quote

If Sark looks at the last two seasons and thinks what he is doing on offense is working, then the narcissism and delusion is even worse than I thought. IMO the two paths are 1.) Sark sees what all of us do and makes the obvious move to bring in a new vision offensively or 2.) Sark shows he is unfit to lead the program and we eat the $30-$50M just like A&M, Penn State, LSU, and FSU all have done. I'm not suggesting we have Sark coaching with an offensive coordinator he doesn't want. If Sark is that much of a child then he just needs to get fired instead. Edited 1 hour ago by whereiend 1 Quote

This is the obvious move IMO. I choose to believe that Sark's narcissism is not so extreme that be will insist on being his own OC yet again. If I am wrong about that, then just fire the guy, because he isn't going to get us where we want to be. 1 Quote

I hope Chris, Kevin, and Jim have enough fortitude to dismiss him if it is obvious he's going to steam the program at max speed into an iceberg. Quote
ChanmanV Posted 46 minutes ago Posted 46 minutes ago We don't make the playoffs, he gets one mulligan at the expense of the OC before he's on the chopping block. So he'd have to get rid of Flood at the minimum which would open up the OL coaching position as well. I'd find a OC that he trust calling plays too. Unfortunately these decisions will coincide with the QB situation. We need an OC and a QB that fit. Arch an Sark do not fit well together and it's painful watching the offense so inconsistent. Quote
