This is beyond wild this morning

Recommended Posts

This wont matter long-term.   A frazzled player (who can kinda do no wrong/harm) running into a frazzled cop with an ego.  Neither dreamed it would come to this in escalating actions.

Frankly, a player that weekend does deserve special treatment.  And plenty of cops believe nobody deserves special treatment (besides other cops).

so, you kinda have an unstoppable force hitting an immovable object.

We’ve lost our way as a society. A simple misunderstanding leads to felony charges. Simple communication and being reasonable should have resolved this before it ever got to this point. Embarrassing for LPD and those officers involved.

Yeah If he would have just told the cop the situation I’m sure he would have made it in plenty of time. Instead he pulled away while the cop hung on. Don’t blame the cop. Stupid situation.

You think that just happened today? Been like that way for a long time. Sometimes it ends in death.

Cop reached into his car which isn’t legal but probable cause is a joke now. This is happening more and more because folks like you give them a pass. Sorry it’s Scottie but he’s not a minority so maybe folks will get how it’s no longer a small minority of cops that abuse or overstep their authority. They see blue, not laws. They often are the escalators/instigators in situations but are then surprised by people’s reactions. In short, too many “bullies” have found a home within law enforcement.

It’s a real issue. Wake up.

I think a couple of peace officers over reacted, kind of significantly.

I think they did their job, but the charges and what’s on the video do not match. The officer telling the media to back up does not have an ego. He told the reporter to back up, he came forward again to say something. Officer told him again to back up. He told him the person was going to jail. And then started talking to the reporter.
