Bobby Burton
Jabbar Muhammad has committed to Oregon. The second team All-PAC 12 cornerback while at Washington this season chose the Ducks over Texas and Alabama earlier today. After entering the transfer portal, Muhammad visited Texas 10 days ago. A day later, he visited Alabama. Of note, the Horns did not promise Muhammad a starting role. The Horns return two starters in Terrance Brooks and Manny Muhammad. GotElmodontcare
We essentially were telling him Brooks would start over him. I bet his cousin even said go to Oregon. You will get more playtime. Brooks is average at best. Won’t even make nfl as cb but staff trying to be loyal to aggy legacy family since they flipped to us. I guess I can understand that. But I’m sick of seeing number 9 burned so much.

justwinbaby
Good thing the coaches aren't panicking over prospects selecting schools 11 months before signing day 2025.

But no corner is these days. Jabbar Muhammad allowed in the 60s range by comparison.

That’s a little bit of what I’m thinking. That’s not just one of the elite guys off the board at the position, it’s two. By no means is it time to panic, but it is something to be aware of.

Like us, they always recruit well, and they just signed a good high school class with a couple national top 110 corners. They also got one of the top juco corners in Lione Laulea, plus a good UTEP portal corner in Kam Alexander. Let's not act like our talent level is so overwhelming so he can walk into Oregon and start.

Texas recruited him to compete. There's a difference. Not saying which one is right, but the two teams see their corner spots differently is all.
Deadhead_Horn
I trust the staff to identify if Muhammad would come in and be a Day One starter or not. If he was, I think they would have recruited him like Golden or Bond.

People tend to highlight the negative things and tend to forget the positives. For example - no one ever thanks the payroll team when they get their paychecks (which happens every week, other week, or monthly for years, but they are quick to complain when a mistake happens for whatever reason (system error, manager forgets to approve time, etc.)
