  1. Physical and technical development takes time. Attitude development does not, and that's what's needed.
  2. and he's immediately eligible to play for Bama again?
  3. the new guy is always the superior prospect, just as next year's flavor du jour will be a better prospect than Wingo.
  4. Let me ask this question directly: I've watched Connor Hayden closely, but my untrained eyes really did not reveal any real deficiencies. Yet, he's everyone's favorite punching bag when it comes to OL play. I get that most people just parrot what they hear/read on these boards, but what exactly are areas where Hayden struggles?
  5. Why? Because all the previous 4.2 guys have been rewriting NFL records? Marques Goodwin is arguably the best sub 4.3 WR of all time. Here's the list, btw: John Ross: 4.22 Kalon Barnes: 4/23 Chris Johnson: 4.24 (great back!) Ronald Melendez: 4:24 Dri Archer: 4:26 Jerome Mathis: 4:26 DJ Turner: 4:26 Tariq Woolen: 4:26 There's an unconfirmed 4:25 from Randy Moss, but not officially.
  6. Hey, that guy played for the Bullets
  7. Until they play, they're always the most talented we've ever signed. Funny thing is Roy Williams wasn't even the most talented WR in his class. That was BJ Johnson.
  8. So did Murphy essentially enable Sweat to have the kind of Lombardi season he had? All year, my untrained eyes thought Sweat was the lead BMF in the middle of that line.
  9. Was this the position occupied by Derek Chang under Herman administration? I guess NIL wasn't a thing yet, so that's a HUGE delta alone.
  10. Gerry... Gerry... Doesn't ring a bell...
  11. What if I roguely choose to disrespect his decision? With that being said and all...
  12. Grant made one of the most impressive plays of last year, chasing down a Penn State RB from behind. Yeah, we want that guy... BMF
  13. What disconnect? He was a true freshman.
  14. Thanks Bobby. I didn't do my homework, so didn't know he was from Georgia. I was still thinking he was from the midwest because of Minnesota.
  15. Bobby, anything you're able to share on why we weren't able to retain Carter? It seems like a good situation for him PT wise going into '24, and he's not going home. Was it just a $$ situation? Position coach related?
  16. Oregon's not without talent or depth in the secondary. Like us, they always recruit well, and they just signed a good high school class with a couple national top 110 corners. They also got one of the top juco corners in Lione Laulea, plus a good UTEP portal corner in Kam Alexander. Let's not act like our talent level is so overwhelming so he can walk into Oregon and start.
  17. I can't pick Simmons out of a lineup if my life depended on it, but if he doesn't have prototypical size, then why is he a 5-star? I thought size was a huge part of being a 5-star, the same reason guys like Drew Brees and Quandre Diggs, despite being wizards in their respective positions, did not get a 5-star ranking, not even a 4 star ranking? Sorry I appear argumentative, but the star system has always puzzled me despite being a solid 20 year veteran of these boards.
  18. 100% agreement that our OL is in a much different developmental shape that 3 seasons ago. Let's just pause there for a second to thank the good Lord and Sark for that. What I meant was for Baker to be an equally impactful multi-year contributor like Banks. Given that we're finally in a position where we can afford to RS our OLs, if we could hold him back another year, AND if Cam Williams is ready to occupy the RT position, that's a long term win for us.
  19. I would be comparing Baker to Banks. Lofty comps, but that should be the expectation. That said, totally agree on relative talent around them. I hadn't considered impact of losing Sweat and Murphy. Broughton and Collins are good, but not Sweat and Murphy good.
  20. I based my guestimate on what Anthony Hill produced this past season, with slight adjustment for their position differences. If they were ranked relatively similarly, I don't see why Simmons wouldn't be able to reach those levels. And if those are pipe dreams, then Simmons shouldn't have been ranked that high. There needs to be some correlations between rankings and expected production.
  21. My expectations: Play in every game 30 solo tackles 20 or so assists for 50 total tackles 8 TFLs 6 sacks 7 QB hurries
  22. Never heard of this dude but I’m gonna pretend it’s an awesome hire to keep the buzz going.
