Oklahoma Sooners QB

Hearing freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. is very, very well thought of. Obviously, his father was a tremendous DB at OU and in the NFL. Hawkins Jr. trained with Kevin Murray for years - Murray is tremendous at teaching and pushing young QB's mentally.

Jackson Arnold will need to perform very well.

Still shocked they pushed Gabriel out.

That's where OU will be in a very tough position if Hawkins becomes the choice of Arnold at some point. NIL is very invested in Arnold, and OU had to push Gabriel out so Arnold didn't transfer.

I hope someday the kids having ultimatums and having transfer portal drama lowers their draft grades.  This is one of the only things about the new rules that irks me; kids not being loyal and patient to develop and compete.

Think long term it was for best with new OC who didn’t run the same offense.

While understandable, I’d still take the experienced, proven guy who has a year left and did well for you.

Edit: Especially my first year in the SEC

Thank God we've got Arch.

He was underrated IMO. Love what he (Hawkins) can do with his feet and he has a live, accurate arm.

He also has a Dad who can be difficult to deal with and that’s putting it nicely.

JA must not be living up to the expectations 👀

Arnold is a pre-Madonna. Kinda like Luka Doncic. Too bad that chubby isn't in Oklahoma.

He's still having flashbacks to the Playoff game with DeSoto.

Can't wait to see that goober on the road in the SEC. Maybe Venables will think he shouldn't have allowed himself to get pressured in to putting out Gabriel when he's getting his butt kicked by Ole Miss, Missouri and LSU. Arnold's daddy won't make much difference then.

By choosing Arnold over Gabriel, OU has now put Arnold in a pressure cooker situation—first year as QB1 after redshirt year after mediocre bowl performance , 1st year at SEC, Newly hired OC, inexperienced OL line…and now Arnold is being chased by a freshman QB for QB1?

If OU and venables aren’t careful…Arnold may start seeing ghosts before Red River game against Texas…that would be a pity for any young QB.

how you wanna bet there could be Arch vs Arnold duel fest (so Ewers can stay fresh for Georgia game the following week?)

And OU NIL is invested in Arnold too ... so pressure there
