K. Baughman Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 They are playing the game the way it is set up to be played right now. I think that’s what NIL is supposed to be used for. Brag about having it or actually put your money where your mouth is. 1 Quote
bourbasted Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 I don't panic over these types of things anymore. If he is from Conroe, has only signed for the NIL, let Oregon have him, season him for a year, take the risk on paying the huge sticker price. We will be his next stop if he leaves. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to get them in the first instance, but being second in these recruitments ain't the curse it used to be. 1 Quote

tsip92 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Looking forward to Gerry’s next article “How Texas can get a Top 10 Class”, followed two weeks later by “How Texas can get a Top 15 Class”. I know it’s early, things will change, etc. I’m actually not that worried about recruiting, but the ups and downs are pretty comical. Quote

Adam Lane Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 I think I figured out Oregon's recruiting strategy. Let Texas do all the evaluations. See who the Horns are recruiting....and then charter this folks to Eugene and buy those players. Really short cuts the process and all that messy work one has to put in! 🤣🤣🤣 1 Quote

Unless something happens with the two 5-star WR’s combined with a few other 4-star level additions … Texas will be inside the top 10 … Now filling all the needs prior to the start of the season, that’s not happening. 1 Quote

harveycmd Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 You gotta believe that the rest of the nation was caught off guard by Oregon's spending spree here. Can't tell me the Longhorns can't spend more if they really want to. Quote
harveycmd Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Might be another Aggies 2022 deal for Oregon. Sounds good getting a bunch of five stars, but having them develop and actually win gams for you is another thing. Quote
