cdibbs
First time going to a game in Fayetteville this weekend and curious for those who have been there before to a Texas game - is the environment as hostile towards Texas fans as the internet makes it seem? dentonhorn
I went around 4 times back many decades ago. Back then, the locals hated Texas fans. One place wouldn’t sell us gas, another mom and pop place, the pop cusses out the mom about letting us use the restroom. We had a car pull in front of us trying to get out of the parking lot, got out of their car laughing leaving us blocked in. Let’s see, guy wanted to fight me after the Tony Jones catch. Eating at a local restaurant post game had an old guy come over wanting to know the score as he said he hadn’t heard. Just immature hassles, many I have forgot. If you can have a car without Texas plates it helps
khorn28
In 2021, had a group of arky frat dudes go chest to chest with an elderly couple, flip them off and tell them to go f themselves…multiple Texas fans intervened, but yea, it’s like that. Jonas Peterson
To be fair, frat dudes in Tuscaloosa did that to me all day last year. Before and after the game. Because I had the audacity to wear a Texas shirt.
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted November 15 Moderators Share Posted November 15 2021 was a fun trip really. Arkansas fans are definitely up there with Texas Tech for me in terms of hatred for burnt orange. I had a blast in Fayetteville, always do, but you could sense the hatred immediately.
horns96
Jan 1, 2000. Thought we were going to a meaningless bowl game at 10am. Dumbest and most confrontational fans I've ever experienced.

hookemrj13
As someone who is around Fayetteville alot and went to the 2021 game. Its not as bad as people are claiming. Got alot of talk POST loss. Pregame was fun a sense of dislike but nothing hostile. Wear orange when and if ppl talk 🤘and move on
dentonhorn
Again, back in the day, oddly they were much worse when they WON.
TooBrokeToPayAttention21
It's not just Hogs vs Horns, people from Ar-kansas don't like Texans period. Got into a parking lot altercation at a Walmart in Ar-kansas a few months ago. The lady told me I needed to go back to Texas to which I replied I'm trying. Then I said some disparaging things about the state of Ar-kansas but honestly don't remember what they were. 😁😁😂😂🤘🤘
Ace Recruiter
The locals are one thing. They hate Texas and everything about it. Student bidy is different. Half the student body is from Texas. Go to the book store. There's a section of apparel called "Lone star hog". It's the razorback logo draped in the Texas flag. Younger generation is loud, but not nearly as aggressive as the old heads.
TexasMDcoach
Never had an issue in Arkansas personally.

LRDuncan
I'll be heading that way this afternoon from Little Rock. Hatred is real amongst the Razorbacks but I'm hoping it will be ALL Horn fans in the stadium by the start of the 4th Quarter. I will be on Dickson St both Friday and Saturday night, so if anyone wants to hang with fellow Longhorns let me know. Also, I have a ticket I need to unload. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Would definitely prefer sitting next to a Horn.

Alex Butler
I went to Fayetteville for undergrad and was there when we played in Fayetteville in 2004 and my parents had a great time (Texas grad and wearing burnt orange). It’s loud and people get into the rivalry. I’m sure it’ll be a little extra vitriol because it is a conference game. Like most places the people that are the worst are the folks that never set foot on campus. They don’t like Texas because they assume all Texas grads are conceited and cocky. The easiest way to diffuse that is to be complimentary of the atmosphere and how beautiful it is up there this time of year and how great it is to be playing regularly. That’ll ease most tension you’ll face. It’s the SEC and road games are hostile. Should be a fun one hopefully the horns come out with a big win!

jonbailey
I’ve spent a little time in Ark and most people were friendly. However I was refused service at a liquor store for wearing a Texas hat. While inconvenient, that is no where near as bad as getting refused service from a mechanic shop in Oklahoma for having Texas plates. I just got back to hotel from JJs and was thinking the same thing. Docile Razorback crowd tonight. No confidence, but if they pull off the W they'll be unbearable tomorrow night......knocking on wood as I type this.
