East Texas guy here. Gerry if you are going down highway 20 and see an exit for highway 64 in Canton. There is a Duke's gas station at that exit that has a huge selection of jerky. The burger joint next to it is pretty damn solid also. Just FYI.

Love this type of comment. All the nooks and crannies of the back roads of the state of Texas.

As an east Texas guy myself, I would like to see Sark cut off the Sooner pipeline into east Texas. Now that NIL allows everyone to legally pay, it seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to take out the criminal interlopers from north of the Red River. I watched a SoonerScoop podcast wherein they discussed Jonah Williams' recruitment and "maybe letting him try the safety position." No one who knows anything about football thinks that kid will be able to play safety in high level college football. Is Venables dense enough to think it's good practice to blatantly lie to recruits? It's certainly not a recipe for long term success.

You know who mentioned that years ago to me? Deion Sanders when I was part of Under Armour All-America Game and we ran Prime21 Camp. Think Deion still has property there.

I know he wants to play safety. Looking at it, I just don't see how it could work. He doesn't have the body type or athletic qualities to cover twitchy receivers. Am I missing something? Bobby, do you, Gerry or CJ think Williams could be a safety?

I don’t. But I’m also not a coach that has to make that decision.

Do I think he could play safety? Not out of the question scheme dependent. Watching him on the football field and basketball court, he's a fluid mover with enough speed/range Do I think it's his most projectable position? Probably not. He's 6-3, 203 right now ... he's going to be 6-3, 215 at the least.

So that’s probably why both Shilo and Shedeur were born in Tyler.
