I see you on the 247sports website, well I did until I got hit with the 403 error, lol. Love your posts over there. Now, I'm not the biggest basketball guy out there, but what do you think the issues or problems are? Outside of coaching? Is it NIL or what?

I don’t think that’s it anymore. Other than marketing basketball more there really isn’t an issue. When Beard was hired he briefly made more than Sark. I think the issue is more with those with money and the NIL. I don’t think enough fans really care that much. And that does affect the NIL. Even in Barnes hey day, typically the stands didn’t get full until after football ended. They would pack the Erwin Center for non conference opponents that were highly ranked.

You think Tre Johnson or some of those well-regarded transfers are in Austin solely for their love of UT? Absurd.

When it came down to a difference maker in Toppin, they said no. And that is the gaping hole we see every game. When Texas football came down to Terry from Georgia, they paid. NIL money comes with the option of where the money gets applied. That’s where the problem starts. Fans will give the money to football. Texas needs enough fans to give it to basketball.
