ArizonaLonghorn
Interesting that two teams from Dallas' division are playing in the NFC conference game, a place the Cowboys haven't reached in 30 years. And the two coaches calling plays were both coaching in Dallas recently, Quinn and Moore. 1 2
qaertyisthatdude
This is why leadership at the top is so important. Very thankful to have Sark, CDC, the soon to be departed Hartzell, Eltife, and the BMDs all aligned and on board with building the best CFB program in the country. I’m a Cowboys fan through and through, but rooting for them to upset the Eagles.
Jordan91
I said this when he fired Jimmy Johnson. Never going to win a superbowl again as long as he is alive. He just used Switzer as a robot to win the third superbowl. That was probably the worst move he could have made. He literally believes anyone can coach a team. TooBrokeToPayAttention21
It's a very meh hire unless he proves he's worth it. Wish him well but have a funny feeling this won't end well for all parties.

I hit a wrong key just now and wiped out my long history with the Cowboys since 1960. Yes, 1960! Mercifully for all the OTF readers I won't start over! Agree with Horns 96 and it was painful after the no-show performance against the Pack at home after the '23 season. That's when I stopped caring about Jerrah's Boyz. Didn't watch a single snap this past '24 season. I'll watch the Super Bowl just because but I have lost my zest for the NFL for several reasons. When I turned in a couple of times and saw the ridiculous new kickoff formation it was the final straw. Even with NIL and all the changes in CFB I still love the Longhorns and the game of college football. Hook 'Em Horns!
Jc Dobbs
Thanks Horns96! Autocorrect got me...*tuned in, not "turned" in. One of my lifetime high school senior memories is scraping together $55 for an end zone ticket for Super Bowl VI in NOLA. Pre-Superdome. My buddies and I slept in the Ford Station Wagon in Audubon Park after driving from Dallas. Loved the Boys... pretty sad now. Best wishes to you! Hook 'Em! _everyoneshere
Do y'all not know who Marty Schottenheimer was?? His dad, the head coach of Kansas City for most of the 90s. Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, McCarthy, and Bruce Arians were part of his coaching tree. If Jerry would get out of the way to let Brian coach and rebuild the staff and team maybe he'll win games. I wish Al Harris would've gotten the job though. Dak needs to take a bigger pay cut to resign others that Dallas needs to keep a few more years. Man hasn't been healthy or produced enough to be paid as much as he is.

Man hasn't been healthy or produced enough to be paid as much as he is. There is a lot of QB's that get overpaid in the league. Trevor Lawrence for example. None of them will do what Brady did and take a pay cut to add talent around or at least free cap room to keep talent. I know people love to hate on Brady, but it was just an example. I'm not a Cowboys fan, so it doesn't him home as much for me (Packers fan). I think Dak is an above average QB being paid like he's a top tier QB. But he's hardly the only problem, it all stems from Jerry Jones. Guy is one hell of a business man but he can't run a football team for sh*t, lol. Unfortunately, until it hits him in his wallet, he doesn't give a sh*t and why should he? He's making a boat load of money every year. GDI
I know Cowboy fans are excited they held off all the suitors for the offensive coordinator behind the high powered offense of the Dallas Cowboys. 🙄 Great job Jerry, the fans are proud.

Glass Joe
2 hours ago, Hashtag said: You know it is a premiere elite top of the line hire when they announce it at 9pm on a Friday night. That was my first thought as well. Jerry Jones, a guy who loves to find a reason to be in the spotlight, announces his next HC decision at 9pm on a Friday night via press release. Kinda suggests how much belief Jerry has in this hire. Cowboys now own the longest streak in the NFC of not winning a divisional round playoff game…30 years. (it was Washington at 33 years but that ended last weekend). The credit debate over Jimmy vs Jerry for the 3 Super Bowls in the early 1990s is settled. Moderators Jeff Howe Posted January 25 Moderators Share Posted January 25 I was in the sixth grade the last time the Cowboys made an NFC title game. I hope they make it back before my unborn grandchildren are in the sixth grade. My daughter is already halfway through first grade and I have no faith in things changing that soon.
4thandFive
I have no faith in the Cowboys as long as the Joneses are involved. Watched 3 Super Bowl wins and nothing but failure since then. Wouldn’t give Romo a defense (Dez caught it) and haven’t had a complete offense in years. The modern NFL offense has left Dallas behind. And the two contracts for Lamb & Dak hamstring the entire team. I just don’t have another team I’ve had any emotional connection to or care to watch. So I’m pretty much out of the NFL.
Saltyhorn
I’ll always be a fan of the team but I haven’t cared or watched them since 2018. I stopped falling for Jerry’s snake oil sales gimmick. Until the jones family sells the team I won’t waste my time knowing the outcome before it ever plays out.

jonbailey
This is the perfect hire. Cowboys can tank for the next three seasons, hire a new coach and get out from under daks massive contract. Start fresh in 2028 with talent aquired through the draft. Cant wait for 2030 when they will finally get back to the superbowl.
Jc Dobbs
5 hours ago, Treston Marshall said: $55 for... superbowl tickets!? Yes! In1972, High School senior sitting in study hall reading the Wall Street Journal. Advertisement for Super Bowl tickets in WSJ from Murray's Tickets in Los Angeles. Typical high school stuff... looked at my buddies and said "let's go to the super bowl and see the Cowboys!" Called Murray and everything was far too expensive for us... Murray called me at home that night and said he wanted to help us "kids "out. He got 4 end zone tickets from the LA Rams and said we could have them for face value. $55 to sit in the end zone seemed like a lot back then. The fun started when I told my Dad my buddy James and I had gone to the Bank and purchased a cashier's check and sent it to Murray in LA for the Super Bowl tickets. Murray promised to mail the tickets to me when he got the cashier's check. My late father was pretty cool... but he went nuts and said James and I were idiots. Well, Murray was legit and an oversized brown envelope arrived with the oversized cool looking SB tickets. Airline travel was expensive back then and all the Motel 6 locations and every other budget motel was overbooked. We drove from Dallas to NOLA in James' father's station wagon with our other buddies Joe and Mickey. Slept in Audubon Park. Afternoon kick at Tulane Stadium and it was sunny and 36 degrees. Mick made a sign "Dolphin Soup For Supper" and we stood near the front of the team buses. The Miami players were very big and not amused! We asked people to see their tickets... like what if Murray was a counterfeit kinda guy? Tickets were legit. Dallas 24 and Miami 3. Staubach over Griese. Landry over Shula. Don Shula. A lifetime memory. So when I gave up on the Cowboys after they dogged the home Wild Card game last year...I said goodbye to a life of pulling for the Boys. Just sad. BTW, I looked up the present value of $55 in '72... now $425. Shows how much SB tickets have skyrocketed. Thanks for reading! Dallas 24 and Miami 3. Long time ago. The Longhorns will win 2+ Natty's before the Cowboys win another SB I'm sure! Glad to have you Jeff... followed you for years.
