New Sunday Starter For Baseball

I was told a little bit ago that Dylan Voltanis will take over for Kade Bing beginning this weekend. 

The freshman left handed pitcher has impressed the coaching staff and they have confidence in this move going forward. 

Volantis has pitched 9.2 innings this season and boasts a 1.86 ERA with 13 strikeouts.

I think he’ll do better. Hopefully Bing can do better coming out of the pen. We’re going to need Bing eventually.

Volantis has looked good.  Bing has his moments, but has been a bit wild with the occasional meatball. I wonder when Grubbs will get more time.  His few innings have looked pretty good.  I never thought he would be a Friday night starter (until last year's problems), and perhaps not Saturday or Sunday, but he was very solid last year and seems to be getting back in the groove from whatever his injury problem was.  We are going to need good middle relief and occasional spot starters.

Is Ace Whitehead expected back this season?

I like this. That high release of his has to make it hard for hitters to track the ball. I expect quite a few K's.

Yes, that’s his father. They seem like great people in my limited interactions with his family online.
