Shane Beuschele did the same. So did the Clemson QB when Trevor got anointed. And other Texas players quit during the regular season in 2020 when the conference championship was off the table.

I agree with much of what you write. You lose me with the kkk thing.  But appreciate the rest. NIL is a form of professional model. It’s not an amateuristic model. Long past due imo. There is waaaay too much money in college athletics; so much so that the cost of a college education as form of payment is no longer commensurate with how much is generated for the schools by the athletes. Just my opinion.

Are you referring to the uNLv QB? If so, you’re leaving out a big part that was/is NIL related.  Unlike Nico, who appears to have been asking for more NIL money; Sluka did not receive what he was promised by one of his coaches. And because he didn’t receive promised NIL funds, he decided to save a year of his eligibilty (to have another year of being able to earn NIL).

And honestly out of all the deals that gets done(thousands upon thousands) you're going to hyper focus on two situations that the player completely quit on his their teams and put themselves above team and is 1000% NOT the "new norm" that you're trying to make it.

 

Is 817 going to be brain damaged and say it was race related for Sluka as well because Sluka got just as much scrutiny for quitting on his team as Nico is getting.

You need to use google or something. He only wanted to transfer because he wasn’t getting the $100k he was promised.  By preserving another year of eligibility he has opportunity to earn more money as it is very unlikely he will get paid in the NFL. Could be similar reason Nico wants more money now; does he project to make more money in the NFL?

Athletes putting themselves ahead of their team happens frequently . This isn’t something new that was created by NIL. Pay attention more.

These two instances isn't the new norm though, just stop trying to force that narrative. Tens of thousands of NIL deals are done and redone each year and this is the only two instances that have come up. JUST STOP!

Holding out! Are you dumb or just stupid? Each of the last two years Jahdae wanted more money. He practiced, he didn’t hold out, he continued to be part of the team functions. Each of the last two years he redid his BIL just around spring portal. BUT he did not hold out aka the new norm you’re arguing.

Listen... the guys on the pod cried about the feds stepping in... but voted for a man that pushed removing federal protections on women's right to choose, allowing the state's to decide. So... if women's rights aren't important enough to be federally protected, why should the feds invest in protecting the NCAA and college football from 18-22 year old kids? That's why you'll see me touch on the items everyone wants to avoid. These things play a part in football. How often have we heard Bobby talk about Greg Abbott l, Ted Cruz and others in regards to NIL and how it affects how we build Texas football. Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable, but that's what truth does to folks, often.

So now.... since the coach lied.. it's ok to quit on your teammates... IN SEASON? Nico has been tryna get this bag since December.  So... Tennessee waited until he no showed 2 days before the spring game to cut bait.. why not back in December, when they came asking for 4 million? Then you can applaud Tennessee like they made the right decision.  Nah, they tried to appease him and hymned and hawed and thought it would subside. Now they're going yo pirate the F out of some other team for a QB... and guess what...

Sluka never made 8 million and nobody really gave a damn about UNLV or Sluka. Nico was a 5 star recruit.. and his 8 million dollar deal made history. Definitely a different level.. which explains your ignorance when it comes to the outrage. Nico didn't just ask for more money this week, fella! Since DECEMBER!! So why didnt Tennessee cut bait then if they knew they weren't paying Nico? Why allow yourself to be in such a position? They should've cut bait then! You guys are ridiculous! You are so noble.  However, don’t try to equate abortion to NIL.  The Left had their abortion protections and lost it.  Why?  They wanted more, killing born babies, ripping aborted babies apart and making a business out of selling their body parts, aborting babies in the ninth month of gestation.   I agree with you the federal government shouldn’t be involved in NIL too.

Nobody aborts babies at 9 months...that was just to get your vote by being outraged, just like these guys are outraged a kid who came halfway across the country for 8 million dollars are now pissed because his family wants more, and the market is bearing the possibility of it being made. Folks like to say what Nico is worth.. but if Duke had a choice between Nico and Darian Mensah before this situation became public... who you think they're taking?
