Let me see what I can find out for y’all on that front. I was told it went “very well” but that was it as of a two days ago!

HI Blake--did you find out any scuttlebutt on women's basketball?  Kneepkens, Judd or other portal possibilities?  Any rumblings on if Amo is staying?

No, the biggest need is a guard (or two) who can shoot the three

Lee, Crump, and Phelia can all shoot 3s and I'm sure Madi will work on 3s more this summer as well. Not saying it doesn't help to have more but a bigger concern is that we just have Oldacre and Moore right now for PF/C vs the crazy depth and talent South Carolina, UCLA, and UConn have at those positions. If we want to get past final 4 semis, we have to be able to compete on the inside this year. Jones, Oldacre, and Jak were good enough against all the other teams in the SEC, but were outplayed and out skilled against South Carolina. Having to deal with Betts (plus her freshman sister now) or Sarah Strong would just be scary right now.

Apparently Pheilia has entered the portal today.

Did you watch UCONN and UCLA play? Do you know why UCLA beat LSU? How about the title game, UCONN vs South Carolina?

If Vic wants to get over the hump he's going to have to change his philosophy. He doesn't have the quality, caliber, and depth to make it work like Dawn does but I think she is even going to need to change it up slightly.

They both, along with LSU, play bully ball. It works, as long as the other team can be brought into the muck. UCONN does not play that way, and never has. UCLA does not play that way, even with a post the caliber of Betts. Vic will never have the depth to do it the way SC does. You have to create variance and advantage somewhere, and that is going to have to come with spacing. He uses Booker like the Pistons used Rip Hamilton, constantly off pindowns/floppy action to the mid-range. Fine with that, but it cannot be sustainable with 8 bodies standing inside of 12 feet of the rim. Not to mention his DDM concepts he loves would be much more effective if the defense had to respect three point shooting enough to create long closeouts.

This is cool, but Kneepkens is the one that matters.

Yes, but if the rumors are true, she won't be coming to Texas.  Hope I'm wrong and Vic gets greedy in the portal like Sark is doing rn to get over the South Carolina hump and go all the way

This team, as it is, can not get there.

Sounds like ou is going all in for next season, if they land her as well, their outside shooting is literally the opposite of Texas'.  Very similar the offensive style of football they had in Norman under Riley - we're going to outscore you mentality.
