Horn95 Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM Volantis is special. Put some lbs on him, tick his velo up a tad, and he’s your Friday night ace for two years. Flat out stud. 1 Quote

.45s Posted yesterday at 03:07 AM Posted yesterday at 03:07 AM (edited) That was another big win. Hope Jared is not really hurt. Max stepped up for him and then Volantis was money as usual. What a stud. We had just enough hitting to win. As much as I like Duplantier and his enthusiasm he can't hit. He is still batting .000 in SEC play and only .107 for the season. Winfield is hitting about twice that. As a freshman Duplantier had 43 at bats and hit .256. Not many at bats last year and he batted .111. So, he is about a .190 career hitter. Edited yesterday at 03:08 AM by .45s Used the wrong players name. Said Borba when I meant Winfield. 1 Quote
Rivalrygameblock Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM Auburn has some of the same annoying tendencies as Kentucky. Wearing this conference out in year one has been better than I imagined. 1 Quote
NoDakHornsFan Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Aggy won 8 straight now. It’s gonna be sweet for big brother to reign supreme next weekend similar to what happened in November. Let’s sweep Auburn first. 1 Quote
TexasFanatic Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Aggy beating Arky once is nice... but let Arky beat them twice. Efff Aggy. Sweep Auburn and we are in a good spot for the SEC 2 Quote
Moderators Blake Munroe Posted yesterday at 04:25 AM Moderators Posted yesterday at 04:25 AM A few quick thoughts before bed: - It was huge to get the win tonight. Really, really big deal there. Sets the tone for the next two days - Grubbs is so good. Just solid baseball every single time. - As good as Grubbs is, I’m not sure there’s a more reliable guy than Volantis right now. And he’s only a freshman. His ceiling is amazing and we are only scratching the surface. - Texas A&M looks really good all of the sudden. Say what you want, but that series is going to be a tough one. - There’s a lot of really good college baseball teams this year and not a lot of great ones. 9 Quote

harveycmd Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM (edited) Good Friday. Closest The US ever came to nuclear war. 20 October 1973. I was one year old. Kissinger was in Moscow negotiating with the Soviets about the Yom Kippur War. Nixon was back in Washington dealing with Watergate. He gave Kissinger full presidential powers. General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev told Kissinger the Soviets were going send troops into Israel. Kissinger invented the statement ,"We'll blow you back to the stone age." Soviets were trying to play domestic troubles against Henry. Kissinger went back to his room and ordered Defcon 3, which meant nuclear weapons ready. Steel balls. Soviets backed down. harveycmd Posted yesterday at 11:27 AM Posted yesterday at 11:27 AM (edited) My father was on an air craft carrier in the eastern Mediterranean then. They readied B1 nuclear jets for Israel and Russia. They kept yelling "First strike. We'll win," as they got ready. Edited yesterday at 11:27 AM by harveycmd Quote

I know Schloss said Spencer was just sore but to be fair (and realistic) he probably didn’t really know what Spencer’s status was immediately after the game. I’m hoping it was nothing more than just sore. This team’s injury list has grown and losing Spencer might be the dagger that this team can’t overcome long term. We shall see. 1 Quote
