Completing eligibility vs not

Specific to the Longhorns and rounds 1-3, the NFL teams certainly rewarded several players who came back to finish eligibility--Baron, Broughton, Collins, Mukuba.

Leaving early--worked out for Banks and Golden

Not working out for a high pick--Ewers, Blue, Williams, Bond (other issues).  Probably Williams ends up being the biggest mistake and wondering if this affects future year decisions.

Completed eligibility and did their best--Helm, Sorrell, Majors, Conner, Gbenda, Bolden, Holmes, Norton.

Hoping for a good Saturday for the group.  Plenty of time for this group to do well in the league despite draft status.

Ewers wasn’t a high pick IMO. Take off the Brunt Glasses and watch the film.

To be honest Quinn was in an impossible position. Without Arch he’s back and probably has a better draft stock if he could get through a whole year.  Williams was the only mistake. Bond was self induced. Blue is who he is.

True. Still he had some 2-3 round predictions in the teams need qbs argument. But this year not so many compared to last year.

Blue should have come back or transferred. This is one of the deepest RB drafts ever and if he had a year with limited fumble issues he’d go significantly higher.

Props to Quinn he loved the horns enough to leave and not transfer risking his draft status. Easily could have transferred and heard all the BS related, probably should have at this point

 Quinn neeeds to do what GH suggested after the Georgia game….. basicly he need to work Day n night … every waking moment catching chickens  w bare hands…..key west like

lacks foot quickness in pocket

Hard worker…. Smart… led us to 2 playoffs on feet that ranked in my opinion 3 out of 10 pocket presence….. 

get those feet to 7 and he could be a 10 yr backup or starter on right team 

feet quickness is his limiting factor ….

Quinn obviously should have followed the Carson Beck path and did a year at another school. But I'm selfishly glad he didn't so that we don't have any conflict in remembering him as a Longhorn.

Actually, in a way this makes the last two years even more impressive, getting to the final four twice without a high draft pick at quarterback.

I hope this doesn’t come off too harsh. But hindsight being what it is and all, any advisor worth his salt would have instructed both Cam and Quinn that they definitely needed to spend another year playing college ball. Clearly, Quinn was going to need to move on to another team as he more than likely would have lost his starting position as QB1. Additionally, Cam should’ve sucked it up stayed and played another year in Austin. Nothing they can do about it now.

Cam caught a break by landing in Philly.  He gets to be coached and developed by the best OL coach in the NFL and push for a starting spot in a few years.  Feel awful for Ewers

I think Quinn with the dolphins is similar. That might be the single best team for him to be on. Maybe the one saving grace for his slide.

How can you say this that he'd have higher draft stock when his entire career says he would have gotten hurt again next year. Just be thankful he isn't back and we can move on from a average at best QB.

I said probably.  People prone to injury do get through years okay at times. Just look at Michael Penix. He had a great year after injury and was a first round pick. Quinn had his ups and downs and never lived up to the hype. With a fully healthy year he wouldn’t be a seventh round pick. 2nd, 4th 5th who knows. While it’s best for us that he declared.. he was backed into deciding to leave or go pro so let’s not say anything more negative about a guy that didn’t want to wear a different college uniform. He was instrumental in 2 playoff runs for Gods sake. I hope he proves us wrong in Miami.

He was a hindrance to us this year in our playoff run. If we have any QB that plays good we win a title.

Love the guy, but Texas might be going for a 3-peat this season if they had Heisman caliber QB play.  The injuries did not do him any favors.  I hope he does well in Miami though.
